20.01.2022 Superstar alert Below is a few clips of yesterday’s session with 4 year old, James Nicholls. James has spent the last term with me learning a variety of tennis skills including tracking the ball through the air while preparing his racquet to hit his shot, rotating his upper body to hit his backhand and stretching up to hit his serve on top of his head. ... Obviously I don’t use those words to teach him these things - he’s just having fun doing it! It’s never too young to start, it’s an ideal time in their development to introduce ball skills and developing hand eye coordination. Excuse the horror camera work - I’m no journo! **thanks to James dad, Peter, for permission to post this.

11.01.2022 What a crazy time we’re all experiencing. I am blessed that we can continue tennis coaching in some fashion. We’re allowed to continue tennis as long as we’re outside, bringing our own racket and limiting to 4 people on court at any one time. We’re adhering to the strictest of hygiene practices to ensure we can sustain playing through these times. Although Tennis coaching through this time is non - essential, it’s essential for a host of other reasons: Exercise Mental... stimulation Mental well-being Normality to reduce anxiety Although I can no longer coach in groups, I can still hold private lessons. If you’d like tennis coaching through this period don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll do my best to accommodate you Please see below Tennis Australia’s guidelines for continued play. https://www.tennis.com.au//COVID-19-Community-Tennis-Guide

01.01.2022 Statement regarding Upper Northern and Yorke Port Pirie Foundation Cup Tournament. This morning, 14/03/20, Tennis Australia advised that all Tennis Tournaments and Tennis Aus run competition be postponed effectively immediately. Although this call from Tennis Australia isn’t in line with the Australian Government’s mass gatherings advice, they are the representative sporting body who’s decision has to be abided by. In light of this decision, the Port Pirie Foundation Cup To...urnament due to be held on the 29th of March, will be postponed. The Tournament WILL go ahead at a later date. As soon as I know when that will be, I will inform you all. Entries are still open and will be for the foreseeable future. Foundation Cup trials will go ahead with a revised format. Stay tuned for further updates. Tournament Director Sam Clayson
