15.01.2022 UPDATE!!!!!!!!! JUST WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT SUPPORTED AND SIGNED THIS PETITION AND SHARED THIS POST THAT TODAY THE NEW LAW WAS PASSED IN PARLIAMENT FOR... CARELESS DRIVING CAUSING DEATH IN QUEENSLAND. I KNOW THIS POST WILL NOT REACH EVERYONE THAT DID, AS THIS ORIGINAL POST ALONE GOT OVER 250 SHARES WHICH WAS GREAT SO ANYONE THAT KNOWS ANYONE THAT FURTHER SHARED OR SIGNED PLEASE LET THEM KNOW THE GOOD NEWS. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE FAMILIES THAT LOST LOVED ONES THAT PETITIONED SO HARD AND PUT IN SUBMISSIONS AND TRAVELLED TO BRISBANE AND FOUGHT HARD FOR THESE NEW LAWS. THANK YOU EVERYONE SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. This is my brother Laurence Sommerville, on the 15th of December 2015 he rode to the corner store on his motorbike, on his way home he was hit and killed by a careless driver that failed to give way to him. That driver was 100% at fault and was only charged with "not driving with due care and attention". He was not charged with causing Laurence's death because Queensland does not have a law in place for "not driving wIth due care and attention causing death or serious injury" like other states in Australia have. That driver showed no remorse and has never apologised for his actions. Queensland law needs to be brought into line with other states so that careless drivers that kill or seriously injure people are held responsible for their actions and are charged accordingly. If you put yourself in Laurence's family's position, I am sure you can understand how heartbreaking it is to lose someone in such tragic circumstances and then for the careless driver to get off with a trivial penalty is just an insult. Laurence's family are supporting other Queensland families that have faced the same heartbreak of losing their loved ones and the person responsible not being charged accordingly. We are calling for the law to be changed so that future victims are not faced with the same heartbreak. IF YOU ARE A QUEENSLANDER PLEASE HELP US GET A LAW IN PLACE BY SIGNING THE E-PETITION. 03.01.2022 Most Australian hams are bone-in they are among the best hams in the world. "The shape, the colour of the ham is all important. "Lovely deep smoke colour, and w...ith a cut ham, beautiful pink firm colour." The experts say you can avoid the watery ham scam by avoiding imported ham, doing the squeeze test and looking for the pink PorkMark label, which is an indicator of good quality. Award-winning pork experts Richard Deignan and Ron Stapleton say some hams, mainly imported boneless hams, contain extra water to bump up weight and increase the retail price. "There's a lot of water in this packaging and you're paying for it," Richard Deignan said of some imported products. Some hams are injected with up to 50 per cent brine, with gums and starches to hold it in. Therefore, with a half leg of ham you could be paying $15 to $20 - just for water. Water-logged ham doesn't last long in the fridge and has a "mushy, soft, spongy feel," Source: https://au.news.yahoo.com//the-christmas-ham-scam-and-how/
