18.01.2022 The 6 Do's And Don'ts Of Buying Solar Everyone is spending more time at home these days. Whether it's for work or to just relax at home with the family. It seems to be a new norm and culture of late. Unfortunately, this means you are going to run into higher energy costs. If you are pondering on the thought of buying solar we have a great post on the "Do's and Don't of buying solar."... Have a look and see what you may have missed

17.01.2022 Thursday thought Let’s talk about quality. A lot can be said about that word and people’s interpretation of it. ... Reading at the fish market a good quote the other day: Cheap fish isn’t good, good fish isn’t cheap. Another classic quote: You get what you pay for. This is so true and you wonder why people still buy cheap. This ‘cheap not being good’ theory especially applies in solar. The industry is so competitive and volatile. People will chase a ‘super cheap deal’. Installing frighteningly cheap solar on their homes with massive expectations. It’s tempting to get a bag of popcorn out and just watch it unravel, as it always does. Our advice would be when buying anything: Check reviews. Not just the company but also the product. Do your own homework. Don’t expect much with cheap products. Maybe you’ll get a few good years, maybe you won’t. You do get what you pay for. Talk to the people who are doing the work or supplying the goods. Are you just a number to them or will they look after you now and into the future? What happens if there’s a problem? Will the company still be around? Who looks after you then. Check the warranties. If it’s shorter than other more expensive brands, there’s a reason for it. Save money now but pay for it later.

01.01.2022 Back in 2016, South Australia experienced a near total blackout after a crazy storm brought 80,000 lightning strikes and at least two tornadoes to the area. When a politician blamed the blackouts on the push for renewable energy, Musk and Tesla bet they could power the area with the company's PowerPacks within 100 daysand did it in 60. After the undeniable success of Elon Musk's battery farm, the Tesla head honcho and the government of Victoria, Australia are following it up by building a new, much larger, 300-megawatt battery farm.

01.01.2022 Fireflies produce cold light. Compare that to an incandescent bulb, which emits 10% of its energy as light and the rest as heat, or a fluorescent bulb, which emits 90% of its energy as light. Because it produces no heat, scientists refer to firefly lights as cold lights.... Happy Friday everyone
