22.01.2022 Chainsaw pants/chaps love them or hate them they are a vital part of our PPE. With the warmer weather upon us we decided to test how effective they really are at protecting us from chainsaws given their discomfort on hot days. As the slow motion shows, the jeans offer no resistance to the chain spinning flat out on our Stihl ms462. Against the Stihl Xflex pants, you can see the chain grab the technical fibres of the pants, pulling them into the saw and stalling it almost inst...antly. The result, contact with a running saw whilst wearing chainsaw pants may still leave a mark and possibly still require medical treatment, however the under the same circumstances wearing jeans it will lost likely result in significant damage to the body part requiring emergency medical attention. For this reason our entire crew wear chainsaw pants regardless of the weather conditions, or job description. Stay safe

22.01.2022 Walking a 40m tall poplar down through a gateway. Having an offside in the far side keeping an eye on the stump look for signs of a barber chair, and a shooter at the end of the target zone to help steer it down, all possible thanks to our comms systems

22.01.2022 The clear cut crew heading back into Corryong, clearing hazardous burnt trees making the area safe for the linesman to begin restoration works on the powerlines.

18.01.2022 The fires crew made it in the local paper for their efforts, well done crew.

14.01.2022 We currently have customers without power in Seymour and surrounding areas as heavy rainfall and lightning move across Victoria. We have reports of wires down i...n Avnel, crews are almost at the scene. This is a timely reminder to all customers to stay well clear of any fallen power lines and report them to our faults and emergency team on 131799. We have additional crews on standby as the storm moves across the network. Stay up to date with restoration times by heading to www.outagetracker.com.au See more

12.01.2022 One of our fire crews using a few tricks to hmget this large burnt out Redgum to fall against its lean. Well done fellas

10.01.2022 Climber grant delivers the goods with this perfect notch cut into a 1.3m dbh redgum that we removed today. Having the notch/scarf perfect is essential to ensure the correct lay of the tree. This tree was scarfed to the centre point to assist in shifting the centre of gravity to enable us to pull it back against the lean. Takes skill, practice, the correct equipment and teamwork to ensure the tree falls where we want it

10.01.2022 More scenes from Albury airport this morning as our Corryong crews prepared for their RAAF flight. Certainly not your average Saturday...

10.01.2022 Exciting day for the crew today. Decided to spoil the chipper crews with a brand new fully hydraulic bc1800xl chipper from Vermeer. With its huge horsepower, hydraulic jockey wheel and chute, class leading safety design, this should help make the task of cleaning up behind our cutting that little bit easier and safer. Enjoy crew

09.01.2022 Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues. A sobering reminder how dangerous this line of work is.

07.01.2022 Travelling in style. The clear cut crew today were flown into Corryong on board a RAAF spartan plane. What is usually a 2hr drive one way was done in 15 minutes, giving our crews more time cutting hazardous trees and assisting fatigue management. Huge thanks to @RAAF and AusNet Services for arranging transport

07.01.2022 Some before and after photos from a mulching job today, hard to explain to people how effective this machine can be in the correct application.

06.01.2022 Took this photo yesterday while working the Corryong fires. Awesome to see the new signs of life sprouting from the trees trying to recover.

03.01.2022 Not your average work commute! Crews left Albury airport early this morning on an RAAF C27 aircraft to get to fire impacted areas of Corryong. Current road cond...itions had crews undertaking a four hour round trip each day from Wodonga to Corryong. With the support of the Royal Australian Air Force our crews were on the ground in ten minutes! See more

02.01.2022 What a difference, the clear cut mulching crew working some difficult, dense mine shaft country. A spotter and good communication are key in these environments

02.01.2022 We are back!! After an exhausting 3 months of non stop working in the Corryong fire area we are finished and the entire team is back in Mansfield. The crew are ready to get started on our commercial contracts and residential works.... Outstanding effort from all living away from home for extended periods and working in some very harsh conditions with extremely hazardous trees. Well done team.
