23.01.2022 With Christmas just around the corner, we thought wed share more security tips with you: Lock your car door: The first thing thieves look for is an unlocked vehicle. They are the easiest targets. Dont leave shopping bags in plain view: The second thing they look for is shopping bags and other merchandise. Hide it or drop it home before you continue your shopping.... Happy Christmas shopping!

23.01.2022 Just got a nice new flat screen TV, Ipad, tablet, computer or Laptop? Don't let your guard down when it comes to getting rid of the box it came in. Ideally, wait till your recycle bin is empty then cut the box up & place in the bottom so all other recyclables go on top. Recycle night can be like late night shopping for thieves, just lift the lid while it's out on the road to see what's new in the house. Try to do the same with the foam when placing in the rubbish, even if it takes a couple of weeks, better to be safe than sorry! 20.01.2022 Security tip: Light it up! Darkness and shadows are a burglars best friends. Use a light-timer to periodically switch on lights to give a lived-in appearance when youre not home. The use of motion-sensing floodlights will also make it harder for a home invader.

Leave a radio on low when leaving home, even for short time. Turn down the volume of your telephone, and do not leave a message stating you are away.... If going away give the appearance that someone is home. Have a neighbour park a car in your driveway and have the rubbish bin put out and put away on rubbish days. 19.01.2022 Security tip: Leave a radio on low when leaving home, even for short time.

18.01.2022 During the past fortnight, there have been 2 house break-ins in our area during the day when residents were home! Luckily no one was hurt but car keys, money, power tools, electronic devices were taken. There were also 2 cars break-ins. What can you do to prevent break-ins in your own home? Always lock the doors and windows, even when youre home.... Only let trusted family and friends know youre holiday plans and avoid advertising your plans on social media. Dont open your door or provide access to your home without knowing who is there and remember to check the identity of any charity collectors, meter readers or salespeople. If you have an alarm, use it and turn it on not only when youre out but also learn how to use it when youre home i.e. at night arm areas that can be accessed easily garage, backdoor etc Use window stickers to warn that there is an alarm system and that property is marked. Many families inherent alarm systems and simply dont even make it a priority to learn how they work. This is one of the most pivotal mistakes a homeowner can make and should be avoided at all costs. If you cant figure out how an alarm system works, have it removed and replaced with one that you can learn how to ...operate. As said before, keep it on. Our Energy provider has contacted us & advised that we could save up to 36% per year on our energy consumption costs if we purchase a 12 x 250w panel for $4599. 07.01.2022 As winter is approaching & with the increase cost of living in Sydney, its good to know what it will cost you to keep warm. GAS will always be cheaper (Natural) but if not available then you can work out how much that oil/bar or fan heater (ELECTRICITY) will cost you to run. 1st: (a) Rating of the appliance- Check the sticker & it should tell you how many watts or kW (E.g. 2400W or 2.4kW are the same) 2nd: (b) What are you charged for electricity? - Check your electricity bi...ll. It will show you what you are charged for each kWh used (somewhere around 25c per kWh) excluding GST 3rd: (c) How long do you leave the heater on for or plan to have it on for? (E.g. 4 hours a day) Using the values above you can calculate how much it will cost you: Per hour by: 2.4kW x 25 = 60c per hour (Kw x cost of electricity per kW) Per Day by: 2.4kW x 25 x 4 = $2.40 per day (over a quarter $216.00 excluding GST) That is for 1 heater running flat out! On the other hand for a GAS Convection heater: Lets say it is a 25MJ heater for comparison 25MJ x 2c per MJ = 50c per hour for 4 hours = $2.00 per day (Over a quarter $180.00 excluding GST) Seems small however the GAS heater above outputs 6.2kW of heat per hour. That is 2.5 times more efficient than the ELECTRICAL heater. Either way - Gas or Electric, if you know your consumption then theres no surprises when you get your bill. Hope this helps!
