The middle filter layer needs to cover your whole mouth and nose otherwise air will pass around it (taking the path of least resistance) and this is the layer that's doing the most good work at keeping you and others safe! Here’s one example of a farm that’s offsetting 100% of their carbon emissions (at least for this carbon neutral series). Since beef is generally considered very polluting, this is a better option if you are including beef in your flexitarian diet. Mind you fresh veg flown in from overseas is WORSE. Like carbon credits, reef credits are encouraging Qld cane and banana farmers to strive for sustainable practices beyond the minimum legal requirements regarding the quality of water runoff. International bank HSBC is stepping up to help fund the scheme devised by Australian company GreenCollar.

05.01.2022 Tip of the day... REUSE old buckets and leaky drink bottles in your garden. Add extra holes and bury them up to their necks. It's a good idea to cut the bottom out of the bucket completely. Use drink bottles to deliver water deep underground where the roots can benefit without burning plant leaves in summer. Add food scraps to your bucket and cover with a composting mat (worm farm mat, old coir basket liner, hessian, cardboard). Top the bucket off with an old glass saucepan or fry pan lid. On hot days, the lid will trap heat causing fast decomposition, on cooler days worms will help speed things up. Once full, lift the bottomless bucket out of the hole, leaving the compost behind and start again in a new spot in the garden.
