19.01.2022 Clear Ears is looking forward to getting back to clinic. We are continuously reviewing the safety aspects of returning to providing services. At this stage access to adequate supplies of the minimum recommended standards for PPE (personal protective equipment) is proving difficult for hospitals, and all community services including Clear Ears.... The PPE standards recommended by the Australian DHHS include level 3 surgical mask, face shield, gown and gloves. To ensure the health and safety of our valued and vulnerable clients and staff, Clear Ears will remain closed whilst there is active community transmission in Melbourne and until we can source an adequate supply of PPE to ensure we can provide services at the highest standard of care and ensure our staff and clients remain protected. We will be in contact as soon as we have any updates. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to treating you when it is safe to do so.

06.01.2022 Our South Yarra Clinic is moving! From 30th November 2020 this Clinic will be at our new Armadale location at 861 High St.

04.01.2022 Clear Ears are excited to be re-opening clinics in a limited way. From Friday 3rd July our Moorabbin Clinic will reopen, followed by South Yarra on Wednesday 8th July. We continue to monitor the evolving pandemic situation and whilst medical grade PPE remains in short supply we will have limited clinics to ensure we can maintain safety for both our clients and staff.... We have also implemented the following to mitigate risk of transmission at the clinics: Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted in clinic (high temperature, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath). Clients with these symptoms will be asked to re-book when they are symptom free or have a recent letter including negative test results from their GP confirming they are non contagious. If a client arrives at clinic showing symptoms (high temperature, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath) they will be given a mask and asked to leave clinic and to call to reschedule when they arrive home If a client has been confirmed with, or been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19; inline with Australian Government guidelines, we request evidence of two negative test results taken 24 hours apart once recovered and prior to attendance at clinic. Clients are asked to attend on their own if possible, however, one support person may accompany if necessary. Clients will be asked to perform hand hygiene on arrival to clinic Clients will be asked to wear a mask during the procedure when physical distancing is impossible to maintain. If clients do not attend with a mask we will provide them one on arrival to the clinic Clinic appointments have been lengthened to 30 minutes to limit numbers in the clinic, and to allow for extra cleaning between appointments Clear Ears Nurses will be wearing PPE during the procedure including mask, gown and gloves as per current recommended guidelines. Waiting room chairs will be set 1.5m apart to comply with distancing measures Toys and magazines have been removed from the waiting room In house sterilisation has commenced to prevent any potential exposure between hospital supply and our clinics. We look forward to treating you again :)

02.01.2022 Clear Ears join Vorotek in their May Audiology Australia Conference Special the conference has been deferred to 2021 but the special is still on. Great opportunity to save on micro suction set up and online theoretical certification and gain your CPD before June cut off.

02.01.2022 Clear Ears continue to monitor advice relating to ear wax removal procedures. The most recent advice from the UK audiology professional bodies recommends full PPE including gloves, gown, masks and eye protection shield. At this stage Clear Ears have not been able to source eye protection shields compatible with our scopes necessary for the safe performance of wax management procedures and the medical grade surgical masks remain difficult to source. ... We are actively looking for appropriate solutions so that we may be able to offer a safe service to our valued clients with out compromising their health or the safety of our staff.
