24.01.2022 As of the end of March, Agreed Value income protection is no longer available in the Australian insurance market. Agreed Value meant that, providing you were earning a taxable income sufficient to support a monthly sum insured when you applied for the cover, you would be guaranteed to be paid that sum insured in the future, even if your income had reduced for some reason. We believe that Australia was the only country in the World that were offering such a benefit. Agreed V...Continue reading
22.01.2022 What should I be doing whilst I can't work? The short answer is "investing"! Whether that be in your career, your own personal development or in creating wealth, you should be investing. I can't comment on the first two but can certainly offer an opinion on the last one. Even if you don't have the cash to be investing right now, you will in the future. The current situation is only temporary and it will pass. You should be preparing now for the time you return to work. On tha...t day, you will have two options: 1. Put it all behind you and get on with your pre-covid lifestyle. Or, 2. Learn from this and take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again, financially. If you are feeling uncomfortable at the moment financially, use that as motivation to drive yourself to take the first step in creating enough wealth to ensure that if this ever happens again in the future, you don't have same feelings! The Advice process around wealth creation takes around 4-6 weeks. You don't need to pay any fee's until you action the plan, and a great side-effect is the great feeling you get from taking positive action for yourself! Get in touch to get the ball rolling so that when you are back at work again, this is all being taken care of for you. Call Steve or Rocky on 1300077123 or [email protected] See more
19.01.2022 It's really nice to know that our experience is appreciated! "Clear FP have been my financial planners since 2017. They have been very astute and thorough with their advice in terms of all things insurance. I feel particularly lucky to have had them in my corner when I sustained an injury to my dominant hand which lead to surgery and recovery. During this time, the staff at Clear FP have been empathetic to my needs and efficiently handled my insurance claims and made sure I was looked after. I cant thank them enough for their professional service and especially for my peace of mind."
04.01.2022 We love getting this sort of feedback from our clients! We aren't there just to set up your insurance: more importantly, we are there when it really counts, at claim time! "I had to make a claim on my Income Protection policy recently. When I first took out my policy, the quality of advice and help I received from Brendan was excellent. Brendan took the time to explain each option and the advantages and disadvantages of each type of cover comprehensively. Brendan was able to ...answer all of my questions which gave me piece of mind. When it came time to needing to make a claim, I was very thankful that I had taken the Day 1 accident benefit on my policy, as I was able to be paid out from the date of claim. The process of making a claim was very smooth with the help of the Clear FP Team and Brendan, I could not be happier. Brendan was initially recommended to me by a friend and I would not hesitate recommending Brendan to my friends for advice on their income protection needs." Please get in touch if you or any of your family or colleagues need help with their insurance or investment needs! 1300077123 or [email protected] See more
04.01.2022 Insurance Premium Waiver vs Premium Holiday There is a huge amount of pressure on everyone at moment, both emotionally and financially. Insurers are doing their best to assist at the moment by offering various options to waive your premiums or put them on "holiday" for certain periods of time. We applaud them for this but we also want to ensure that clients considering utilising one of these options, are fully aware of the difference between the two terms. Premium WAIVER: N...ot all insurers offer this but those that do, usually will only do so for those people that pay their premiums on a monthly basis. The waiver means that the insurer will "waive" your premiums for up to 3 months during the life of your policy. Once you have used the 3 months, it cannot be used again. The benefit of this option is that you are still fully covered during those 3 months if you become disabled and are entitled to make a claim. Premium HOLIDAY: Quite a lot of insurers offer this option. It means that you "pause" paying your premiums for up to 12 months and resume your cover at the end of that time without further underwriting. The catch with this option is that whilst you are not paying premiums, you are also not covered for any disability you suffer during that time. For example, if you become seriously ill whilst on a premium "holiday", you are still not covered for that disability once you come off claim. This is a serious consideration before opting for the short-term benefit of saving money. As we here at ClearFP have always said, Advice is about enabling you to make the best decision for you! If you wish to discuss this in more detail, please get in touch with Brendan at 1300077123 or [email protected] See more
