04.01.2022 I hope you are all staying safe. As promised here is a summary of how Stage 4 restrictions are affecting physiotherapy. First and foremost our doors are well and truly open. However treatment is restricted to urgent presentations only. Urgent treatment is defined by the government as treatment that is required to "prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence which would then" need "specialist input/review, an increase in care needs and/or alterna...te accommodation, or a hospital admission or emergency department presentation)". This is quite a limited definition, but is required in order to restricted the movement of the public and slow the spread of COVID-19. So how do you know if your treatment is urgent. Make an appointment and we will do all the "heavy lifting" and decision making for you. You will be sent a link to a form which prior to your appointment and this will be assessed in clinic. If you fit the criteria for a face-to-face appointment nothing will change. However if your treatment is deemed to be non-urgent one of our friendly staff will contact you and you will be offered alternatives such as telehealth. Continuity of care is so important to us and we don't want to see our clients deteriorate over this time of stage 4 restrictions. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. If in doubt reach out and we will assist you in anyway we can.
