08.01.2022 SECURITY SCREEN INDUSTRY ANNOUNCEMENT MSF30913 CERT III R5.0 Blinds, Awnings, Security Screens & Grilles On behalf of the security screen industry, the NSSA has... been working with the Furnishing Industry Reference Committee (IRC) on the revision and updating of the MSF furnishing Cert III Blinds, Awnings, Security Screens and Grilles. This project began with a case for change in November 2017 and was undertaken to meet workforce upskilling demands and reflect current and emerging industry skills and technological changes. During this time, the course has been fully reviewed and amended to ensure it includes and is reflective of the current needs of our industry. The NSSA is pleased to announce that this project has now received ministerial endorsement and is now live at training.gov.au. This is a huge achievement for our industry and a much-needed relevant pathway for our members and the security screen industry to attain qualification, and in time, raising the benchmark of our industry. The Australian Standards (AS) cover the security aspect of Security Doors and must be followed when supplying a le...gitimate security door or screen product. This Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the performance of all types of hinged and sliding security screen doors and hinged, sliding, removable and fixed security window grilles used primarily in residential situations. WHAT ARE THE STANDARDS?
