This is an UNREGULATED INDUSTRY, and the terms "certified laser practitioner" or "accredited clinician" usually will only mean that the operator has done a course by the laser maker. These courses exist purely for insurance purposes and does not mean that they are any good at removing tattoos. The clinician is not required to have any formal medical training, and it is the wise consumer who enquires about the operators history, both with the machine and the within the industry. Having made this statement, I will clarify that the clinic in possession of a laser does so under the strict adherence and must follow the guidelines as per the Australian and New Zealand standards for laser operation.
