25.01.2022 CB is pleased to continue this longstanding partnership in a year that has likely been the most challenging ever for community sport. Sport plays such an important role in building stronger, healther, happier and safer communities. We offer our thanks in particular to the many passionate and dedicated volunteers that make it happen.

24.01.2022 Cleary Bros are currently working for the Department of Defence at Garden Island for the Stage 1 Critical Infrastructure Recovery Program. The project is managed by the Garden Island Bayinguwa Delivery Team, a joint venture between Lendlease Building and PSG Holdings. Cleary Bros are contracted to construct a marine rock revetment consisting of approximately 120,000T of rock from sourced and delivered from our Albion Park Quarry. Construction is being undertaken by long reac...h excavators building the underwater revetment which is controlled by GPS survey. Thanks again to all our Construction Division and wider CB team who have been part of it.

23.01.2022 Thank you to Vintage Trucks & Commercials Magazine and author Jim Gibson for a special profile piece their July-August edition entitled Bulldogs Cats & Cleary Bros. Jim tells the story of several of our restored vehicles including the NR Mack (1947) and B61 Mack with unique insights by our Chairman, Denis Cleary, and Bill Simpson who first went to work for Denis’ father John (Jack) Cleary in 1950. Bill got the job of picking up the B61 when CB first brought it in 1964 and reflects warmly on being the King of the Road in the 60s being able to drive it. CB acknowledges again the dedicated team at our Bombo Workshop led by John Caruana and our late Transport Workshop Manager Les Lipinski who meticulously restored the B61 over a 3 year period.

23.01.2022 Cleary Bros would like to profile another member of our team, Matthew Banks. Matthew is a Supervisor at our Albion Park Quarry who was recently elevated to Fellowship with the Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA). He joined CB after working in the quarrying industry including at major companies for nearly 15 years. Matthew says his greatest career achievement to date is mentoring several team members into Leading Hand and Supervisor positions. Notably two of those employee...s were female which was a great benefit to both that business and the wider industry. Matthew notes his biggest career challenges as the rapid production changes required to keep afloat during the GFC and current COVID-19 uncertainty, which has required similar ‘outside of the box thinking’ to safeguard employee and visitor safety with physical distancing and other measures. CB again thanks all staff for how positively they have embraced the significant changes required for the ‘new normal.’ An interesting fact about Matthew is that he is a Life Member of the Dapto Chiefs Baseball Club and has been involved in that Club for nearly 25 years. (NB While always hard to say no to some good rain you can see the result of some heavy falls in recent times!) Visit us clearybros.com.au

20.01.2022 The horrific 2019/20 bushfire season was a devastating blow to our NSW South Coast and many other fire-ravaged communities. It was truly heartbreaking for all of us to see lives lost and so many people lose everything they had over the Christmas and New Year’s period, including homes and valuable belongings. Cleary Bros are extremely proud and honoured to have partnered up with Laing O’Rourke to be involved in the Bushfire Clean-up program in the Eurobodalla region of the So...uth Coast, New South Wales. The Bushfire Clean-Up Program is a jointly funded by the NSW Government and the Commonwealth covering the full cost of cleaning up eligible NSW properties that have been destroyed by bushfires since 1 July 2019. Public Works Advisory (PWA) appointed Laing O’Rourke to manage the clean-up, enabling people to take their first step towards rebuilding after the bushfires. The Cleary Bros crew are playing a fantastic role in the rebuild effort as many of these properties are located in isolated areas providing access challenges for the crew to navigate. We would like to thank all those who have been involved in this wonderful and rewarding initiative to help those affected by this terrible tragedy to get back on their feet and ready to rebuild their homes and lives. Our thoughts remain with you all. *Special mention to one of our project leads, Keiran Sullivan, for the great photos and to all our CB team that have spent a lengthy period away from their own families to help others

19.01.2022 ***A conversation could change a life*** Tomorrow, 10 September, is RU Ok? Day. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs.... 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. Refer to https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day for more information and learnings on how to ask R U OK?, listen, encourage action and check in.

19.01.2022 Introducing a new CB fleet addition. The Franna AT20 is fitted with Dynamic LMI (Robway) weighing system, fully compliant and current crane safe certification. Our employee Michael Mizzi had been driving the former AT12 Franna throughout its entire 28 year lifespan and seems pleased with the upgrade!

12.01.2022 Members of our Plant Hire team trying out our new reconfigured COVIDSafe education room at Port Kembla today for training on articulated haul truck operations. At Cleary Bros we have continued to adapt our business practices and sites to help keep our people and other stakeholders safe. With NSW’s relaxing restrictions, it can be easy to forget to maintain physical distancing and become complacent. Please keep up good hygiene, physically distancing wherever possible and stay... home and get tested if you have flu-like symptoms. Remind each other to keep 1.5 meters apart and help prevent further spread of COVID-19.

10.01.2022 This week we would like to introduce another member of our Concrete Team - Joel Hansen. 01.01.2022 Cleary Bros is proud to maintain our family values-based culture, and have always had a strong commitment to giving back to our local community. In 2020 CB is pleased to start a new partnership with @southcoastblaze as the Franchise Partner. South Coast Blaze is a new franchise in the Netball NSW Premier League, the pinnacle netball competition in the state providing bridging opportunities to the Deakin University Australian Netball League and subsequently, Suncorp Super Netb...all. The Opens and Under 23s teams will travel to Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park each week to compete against nine other franchises, with the season starting tonight after the original kick off was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cleary Bros Managing Director and CEO, Steve Rogers, is looking forward to being on board for two years as the Franchise Partner. As a progressive business in a traditionally male-dominated industry, diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of our workplace so we are also passionate about helping the growth and recognition of women's sport, particularly in regional areas. We believe in supporting grassroots sport and providing opportunities for great athletes to succeed through elite pathways, in this case for our talented women and girls, so for us, partnering with South Coast Blaze was the perfect fit, said Rogers. CB Executive Director, Louise Sullivan, who in a volunteer capacity also serves as President of Netball NSW (owner of the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball SSN Clubs) agrees, Netball remains the highest participation sport for women and girls in both NSW and Australia, and the South Coast Blaze provides a pathway to elite netball never before seen on the South Coast. Together with everything the Cleary Bros families have done for so many years for their community it is wonderful as a major local employer that they will also be a key part of showcasing all these amazing athletes and supporting the growth of female sport in our region. The franchise will primarily nurture the best current and emerging elite netball talent from the Illawarra, Kiama and Shoalhaven regions. #OurBlaze #OriginEnergyPremierLeague #NetballNSW *NB Photo taken pre-COVID
