21.01.2022 Although we needed the rain it did get the better of the gym. Due to the large volume of water our drains didn't keep up and we suffered some minor flooding. That being said the gym remains fully functional and open to all members just needs a day or so to dry out and then a quick vacuum and well be back to new again. Despite the rain we still managed to complete some overdue bag replacements, unfortunately COVID had a bit of an impact on our supply chain. Check it out a new bag, water bag, floor to ceiling a few chain and shackle replacements as well as some new skipping ropes. We are working on a permanent solution to the water ingress and appreciate everyone's understanding. I Trust everyone will enjoy the new gear and remember to keep your hands up

19.01.2022 On live at Carina Bowls Club Yeah Sunday Sesh

19.01.2022 Members and Guests, earlier today the state Government confirmed that the lockdown would end at 06.00pm tonight. Although this is great news there are a number of ongoing controls that have been introduced for at least the next 10 days - Refer https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/ for full details. As we are a small and generally unstaffed facility administering the requirements is difficult, However we are supported by our considerate members and guests and trust that we can rema...in compliant. The gym will reopen tonight at 06.00pm with the following requirements. 1. All members and guests must sign in via the QR code in the gym. If you are training or not, for clarity if you cannot utilise the QR Code please do not enter the gym. 2. All members and guests over 12 years of age must wear a facemask whilst occupying the facility 3. All equipment used to be wiped down after use I cannot stress the importance of complying with the State government requirements. Any breach will result in closure of the gym and termination of membership. Thank you to all of our members and guests support to date and we look forward to remaining available for all to enjoy.

14.01.2022 We are nearly there, a few members spent saturday helping out to ensure we are COVID safe and have all the hygiene equipment on hand. Thanks to all those that helped out Saturday to make it happen. So now we all need to chip-in to keep us open we have placed hand towel and disinfectant spray bottles around the gym please disinfect all equipment after use including the bags. All members tags will allow them entry on FRIDAY. Whilst in the gym please ensure all entry doors are... closed at all times. To all members please remember we are a not for profit facility with no staff. If its dirty clean it, if its needs a sweep grab a broom. If we all help we can keep the place clean and hygienic for along time to come. Finally if you don't yet have your swipe tag - You need one as they keys are no longer active. Message us on facebook and we will send it out. Full steam ahead on Friday please stay safe, remember to disinfect, maintain your distancing and as usual keep your hands up!

13.01.2022 What a year this has been but as they say, The Show must go on! On September 30 at 06.30pm we will be holding our annual AGM at the Carina Bowls Club. The AGM will involve elections for our committee and all foundation members are eligible to nominate for a position and vote so if your keen to get involved come down and see us. We will also discuss the clubs financial performance, membership opportunities, and a hot topic for all the current committee members....can we welcome back Junior boxing classes?. Look forward to seeing those that can make it, if you cant get there and have some ideas on how we can evolve and progress please feel free to reach out. Thank you again to all for your understanding and support through these very different times and remember, keep your hands up

12.01.2022 This is well overdue but for those that don’t know in the last week we were inundated by the heavy rains. It poured in! A few of our members stood up, hooked in and got us back in business! Cheers to those lads that had a go!

12.01.2022 Members and guests, firstly than you to all those committed to the facilities rules and ensured we remain compliant. We have this morning had confirmed that masks are no longer required whilst undertaking strenuous aerobic exercise such as high intensity interval training, cycling, running or team sport. As the art of boxing is high intensity, those training in the facility are not required to wear a mask.... Appreciate everyone's patience and understanding with this ever evolving situaiton, please remain diligent with the COVID tracing tool and keep your hands up.

11.01.2022 A big day in boxing today. Fury and Wilder hit the screens this afternoon if your still unsure where to watch it check out our friends at Carina Lawn Bowls Club they are showing it. Maybe even bigger than the fight we have finally commissioned our electronic access system and will commence the transition from keys to tags over the next month. To all financial annual and foundation members there is no cost we just simply need to get the tag to you. Over the next few weeks people will be available at the gym to provide access cards. Simply message this page with any concerns and pass on to any non Facebook goers.

11.01.2022 Members - we are in day 2 of operation and so far things are working out, please remember to disinfect any and all equipment you use including the rings and bags. We remain limited to 20 people at a time and social distancing is a must. Further to these restrictions we are currently unable to utilise the site ammenities due to COVID procedures and as the mighty Carina Tigers return to training we will be unable to access the Rugby League field. Please continue to access our facility via the main door and keep gym doors closed when utilising the facility. Thanks again to all members for their understanding through these unusual times. Keep your hands up and keep fighting

11.01.2022 Members I hope everyone has found their interim fitness regime as we work through these unprecedented times. We along with others look forward to the day we can open back up for business. We have used this shut down to complete the install and commissioning of our electronic access system. What this means is the keys previously issued to the gym will no longer work. Please send us a message to arrange collection of your access card to avoid any delays when we are allowed to open.

09.01.2022 Pizza, cold beer and Boxing.

08.01.2022 Clem Jones Boxing Members - When are we training again? This is a common question we are all asking and as yet unfortunately I cannot provide any further clarity beyond the QLD Governments Three stage plan. We are considered a gym and on that basis I don't anticipate a full reopening until July, that being said if we can open sooner we will. In the mean time the committee are working hard to develop a COVID-19 plan and increased hygiene facilities in the gym. It is key to out...line that our facility is a not for profit facility designed to provide members and community participants a safe place to train, excercise, develop and even a little socialising. Our COVID-19 plan will involve availability of sanitisers, disinfectant spray, wipes as well as the removal of any community protective equipment (Gloves, Headgear etc). The plan will require participation from all facility users to assist with general cleaning and sanitising of equipment and already a number of members have volunteered to assist where needed to ensure we can continue to operate our great club. Thank you to those members and all others that I am sure will support us in the future. In closing all Annual memberships have been extended inline with the lockout and Foundation membership fees waived for this year. Look Forward to getting the gloves on soon

08.01.2022 Attention Members and Guests in accordance with the State Government direction we will be shut from 4.00pm today and will not reopen until 07.00am Tuesday 12th January 21 This is a timely reminder that COVID-19 unfortunately isnt over and we must comply with all State Government Directions in order to continue operating beyond this closure.

07.01.2022 Members and Guests Welcome back to Clem Jones Centre Boxing Club 2021, lets hope we can operate throughout the whole year! Last year we lost nearly 2 months due to COVID-19 and we are committed to ensure we do all we can to avoid this happening in 2021. A few easy steps for all members and guests to assist us with this goal. 1. When you enter the gym as a member or guest please use the QR codes at the entry to sign in - Each and every time! 2. Use the dissinfectant spray and... paper towel available to wipe down equipment used. We appreciate everyones support in ensuring we comply with the COVID safe plan.

05.01.2022 Members and guests although we are progressing well in QLD with the fight against COVID19 our Southern cousins are still punching on. A huge thanks to everyone for their efforts in the gym over over the last month or so with everyone wiping equipment down and keeping the place clean to keep us COVID19 free. Whilst the Southern states are are still in a fight it is a timely reminder that for us it is still far from over. Please remain diligent and ensure you wipe all equipment down after use and keep your distance where practical. Stay safe.

04.01.2022 Good morning everyone. There has been some suggestion that the Centre has been potentially linked to positive COVID-19 results in Logan. Camp Hill Carina Welfar...e Association trading as Clem Jones Centre and all Club Partners take the issue of Health & Safety extremely seriously with all Clubs having detailed COVID-Safe plans in place and a high level processes for hygiene & sanitisation. In relation to a post on the Facebook page Carina Heights Community Group we can confirm that the basketball coach referred to in the post has NO link whatsoever to the individuals based in Logan however does coach basketball at the Logan Complex. Our coach having coaching commitments at the Logan Sports Complex as well as at the Clem Jones Centre has contacted QLD Health who have confirmed that our coach, having no link to the individuals in Logan, could continue coaching in their role at the Clem Jones Centre with normal COVID-19 measures in place. Again, we would like to reassure our Community that we take these matters seriously and strictly adhere to QLD Health advice and our COVID-Safe plans. Steve Heald, CEO

04.01.2022 Hi everyone, As you all know by now the government has imposed a compulsory shutdown commencing midday today, Monday, March 23, 2020. Unfortunately this means that the gym will be closed until further notice.... We are a not for profit facility and rely on our members and guests to keep us going so trust that we will see everyone back once the shutdown has concluded All paid memberships will be extended to the equivalent of the mandated shutdown. Please everyone stay safe through these uncertain times. We look forward to seeing you all back soon. Until then keep your hands up
