25.01.2022 4/5/6 spent Week 4 constructing and exploring the properties of 3D shapes. We also created our own 3D geocity out of shapes we had constructed from nets and will code our spheros to travel through it!



24.01.2022 1/2 worked hard in teams of three to design, build then refine the tallest lolly tower that they could make. Each team had 30 lollies and 40 toothpicks as their equipment and 17 minutes of time. We had lots of fun during this STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, maths) lesson!

19.01.2022 In 3/4, students have been working on their addition and subtraction skills by solving problems that involve money. To practise our knowledge of money, students created their own 'mini shops'. We created price lists, price tags and advertisements to encourage people to shop at our store. Students were all given a limit to spend and practised giving each other correct change.

17.01.2022 Earlier this term Rory was awarded the Newcastle Permanent Primary Mathematics Competition District Award in the Year 5 Division. Rory was given a Newcastle Permanent account worth $50. Here he is receiving his certificate. Well done Rory!

09.01.2022 Mrs Simmons found 4/5/6 a brilliant game to practice our division skills. Some of us even finished 'EXPERT' level!

07.01.2022 Mrs Watson’s math’s group making ‘Friends of 20’ rainbow pairs last Monday for addition and subtraction and having a circle time session to share our ‘ban the boring’ piece of imaginative writing last Tuesday.

05.01.2022 1/2 created beautiful peacock artworks using metallic pastels, sharpies and sequins. Aren’t they gorgeous?

05.01.2022 In a Week 6 math lesson, 1/2 went on a ‘length’ hunt to answer the question ‘who has the biggest head in our class?’ We measured peoples’ heads using a strip of paper then counted the length using a unit of our choice (for example: counters). It was lots of fun!

03.01.2022 1/2 have been working hard on reading with expression and intonation. We visited K/1 to read them some of our favourite books and show them our reading skills. Everyone had lots of fun!

02.01.2022 During Term 3 1/2 have been working hard to learn a new writing style: persuasive writing. In this lesson we worked in small groups to brainstorm our ideas to argue whether cats or dogs are a better pet.
