The Abattoir works hand in hand with the retail business producing fresh local beef to residents of Clermont and surrounding areas. The retail business situated in Herschel Street, Clermont is located on the main route for local... customers and the travelling grey nomads. It is largely supported by local residents on a daily basis with country private killings constantly booked in from surrounding properties as far as Alpha, Emerald, Rubyvale, Dysart, Capella and Moranbah. The Abattoir is situated in Edge Street, Clermont and comes with an area of surrounding land allowing easy access for unloading of country killers. Currently the business employs five people with the owners contributing a 1.5FTE work participation. Over the past 10 years both the Abattoir and Shop sites have undergone extensive upgrades on all cold rooms and equipment, therefore there is no need for immediate repairs or upgrades. The retail business has solar power installed therefore keeping the energy costs down. All equipment will be sold with the business (walk in walk out) to allow immediate continuation.
