23.01.2022 Coffin after coffin, after coffin. Imagine your son, sister, father, grandmother dying alone. Imagine being unable to see them or say goodbye before their death. After the death, you cant access the body to offer a limited attendance funeral service. Imagine standing over a piece of ground like this in 6 -12 months time wondering where they are or who lays above or below them. Imagine considering 2 or 3 loved ones in this pit. These are times not dissimilar to world wars 1 ...and 2 when reflecting on the dead. I have often felt as a medic, especially a few weeks ago that I was preparing my team and myself for war. Sure, the measures that Australia has taken to limit the spread of this virus have felt painful to all of us. Jobs lost. Businesses closed. Schools closed. Remaining work and income dwindling for all. However .... imagine if our government hadnt taken these steps. How much more pain would we all be suffering? Im talking about the deep, burning pain of grief. Not just once either but relentless waves of loss and grief as every day we discover more people we know have died in these terrible circumstances. I think its time to applaud our government and Australias collective efforts. Our numbers of infections and dead speak for themselves. Dont lose sight of why we are doing this. https://7news.com.au//new-york-buries-dozens-in-mass-grave

12.01.2022 Its sad but its true...Dr Krishna finished his last shift with CCP on Friday. Such a wonderful man and a incredibly thorough doctor. He joined us in March right when I thought I couldnt possibly carry on alone. It was such a amazing relief to have a like-minded doctor in the room next door to discuss cases with and bounce ideas off. Not to mention the relief of sharing the workload with such a capable medic. As a human, he was also amazing with my kids... ... Krishna came all the was from Scotland to little Clermont just before the world went properly mad. We were not able to introduce him to our rodeos, campdrafts, shows, dog trials, social sports or race meets. So many of the pleasures we all know and miss. What a tough time to come to a little rural town. He did get in some social cricket, got a hit at golf with some locals and climbed our local peaks and mountains. This week he travels back to Scotland and eventually onto India to see his family. He faces a world we cant even imagine when he arrives in these destinations. We dont know if we will be lucky enough to have this gentle soul join us again but our door will always be open. Thank you Dr Krishna... from the bottom of our hearts. Your contributions to the health of this town have been profound. Your one of a kind and you will be missed. Wishing you safe travels and a happy return to your beloved Scotland. Just in time to escape our Summer!! Stay well and keep in touch. With so much gratitude for all you have given, shared and done for our little Clermont. Your CCP Family
12.01.2022 Clermont 4 Doctors launched today. A organisation made up of community members with a goal to help attract and retain more long term GPs in little Clermont. Its an awfully challenging job. A task that many small towns all over the country struggle to achieve. This town has formed this group to tackle the lack of rural doctors head on. I couldnt be more grateful that the community members and local companies that have invested themselves in this project. This group has t...he potential to significantly evolve our communities medical future. It takes a team effort in these little towns. Thats what C4D is. Well done Clermont & C4D. Its a great time to celebrate rural communities and the joys of rural medicine. Yes it has its challenges but the sense of belonging and genuine purpose make it all worthwhile. Blessed to be a Rural GP. Blessed to be in Clermont. Please share C4Ds production, lets help create tomorrows rural doctors. #C4D #clermont4doctors #ruralmedicine #ruralgp
11.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there!! We hope all the Dads got spoilt and were able to take a break and spend some quality time with their families.
11.01.2022 12 months ago today Clermont Country Practice opened its doors. A eager group of women and some of their kids embarked on a great mission. Our goal was to establish and expand access to quality sustainable primary healthcare for Clermont and its rural surrounds. On this incredible journey we have sailed some of the roughest seas any new business could imagine. We faced the chaos and pressures of overwhelming community need, dramatic rural doctor shortages, business and man...agerial inexperience and finally the negative impacts of a global pandemic. Despite the difficult conditions, thanks to the support of the community and the evolution of a great team, we found ways to swim rather than sink. The CCP team has blossomed in number and skill. The addition of 2 amazing doctors has driven our capacity to deliver on our vision in more ways then we could have imagined possible in such a short time. In 12 months Clermont Country Practice has: Welcomed 2153 patients Provided 12,630 consults Welcomed 53 babies into the world Cared for 82 pregnant bellies Participated in 89 specialist telehealth consults Provided vaccinations to 670 different patients Performed 191 ECGs Identified at least 10 melanomas Collected over 2000 pathology specimens Finally assisting the establishment of Clermonts first weekly ultrasound clinic with Emerald Diagnostic Ultrasound Service. What a privilege to walk beside our patients and their families for 12 months as a team. Sharing the smiles, laughter, tears... even the grief of those that have passed. Despite all our efforts I am certain that at times we have let some of our patients down. From these situations we have tried very hard to learn, make changes to improve and then keep trying. As the captain of our ship would I embark on this journey again? Probably not ... Do I regret it? No Why? Because I have had a wonderful team who recognise our efforts are for the most deserving of rural communities. Secondly... its clear that we are really making a difference. This is what rural medicine is all about!! Do we have more to achieve? Yes of course we do... watch this space. Thank you Clermont. Thank you for supporting this little team through its challenges. Thank you for continuing to support our journey and mission. We are excited about the future of medical care in Clermont and look forward to bringing more and more positive change to this rural community. Special thanks to our magical team... Angela, Katrina, Sally, Lana, Rosemarie, Renita, Renee and of course Dr Krishna and Dr Dylan. What a happy day. Dr Sarah

05.01.2022 Hi Clermont! As you all probably know I came to Clermont after falling in love with a local Grazier. Cattle are a huge part of our lives out here with many of us having some exposure in our daily lives. With this exposure comes the risk of Q fever infection. Q Fever is an infection I am passionate about raising awareness for, after seeing many very sick patients with this often prolonged and complicated illness.... I have had many patients ask me to arrange another Q Fever Clinic and I thought it was time to grab the bull by its horns". So the dates are set! There will be 3 clinics over the coming months. These will be smaller clinics to help maintain social distancing. If your interested in getting Q fever vaccinated or would like more information on these clinics follow our Facebook page or contact our friendly staff on 49 113 299. Dr Sarah
05.01.2022 Just a video to emphasise the importance of extra caution when attending a consult with viral symptoms. So if you have any viral symptom such as: - Sore Throat - Runny Nose... - Sore Glands - Swollen Glands - Fever - A Cough of Any Kind We would like to remind you that we are not examining any patients with viral symptoms in the clinic. Instead we have a dedicated space outside the clinic to examine patients who have viral symptoms. In this space we can take precautions to keep everyone safe.

03.01.2022 Our first successful Flu Clinic! We did it Clermont meets COVID style today sporting our community created PPE! Our gowns and hats were made by Joy Wright and her team of amazing creative women. Dr Krishna wore sail-ships and Dr Dylan donned fun aircraft. Perhaps choices representing the lack of travel opportunities these days ?... Renita wore farm animals, pastor Allan will be proud. Finally I chose pretty sea shells. We had so many beautiful options that picking todays outfits was hard work! Our face shields were made by local 3D printers. Jen Ellis THANK YOU! No asbestos gowns or asbestos grade masks today. We thought we wound run with colour while we could. I was so so proud to wear this equipment today. Words fail to describe how incredible this communtiy is. From the perspective of delivering the actual vaccines, it was a slick show. Well done to my CCP A-Team! Our free flu clinics (for eligible groups) will continue to run weekly. 01.01.2022 This is not the year to suffer with prolonged viral symptoms. Do yourself a favour, reduce your chances of serious illness and get your flu vaccine. The vaccine wont just help protect you, it will also reduce the risk of you transmitting a serious flu infection to your friends and family. People who might not have had the vaccination. Last year I was witness to a stream of very sick children and adults with the flu. Many eventually required hospital support or monitoring. ...It didnt take me long to realise 2019 was an unusually bad season. Having reflected on the numbers its clear that 2019 was one of Australias worst flu seasons on record. * It killed 902 people across Australia where in previous years the numbers have been as low as 142 deaths. * The season was spread out lasting approx 30 weeks where it previously ran over 12 weeks on average. * It was responsible for huge numbers of hospitalizations and ICU admissions across the country. This year it is more important than ever that we keep our hospitals and clinics free of unnecessary viral illness. Letting the flu get hold of any community will put a great strain on medical resources as we wont be able to confidently differentiate the flu from covid with out testing all cases for Covid19. Be a hero to your family, your friends and your work mates. Get your flu vaccine. We have plenty in stock both private and public call us on 07 49113299 or book online.
