The fold-down product certainly keeps the washing dry and protects your bald head from the sun when bringing in the laundry- always a plus for a middle-age bloke! Doesn't hurt that it gives a bit of extra privacy too if you're in the inner-city and your neighbours live cheek to jowl with you... While it looks good, you'll need to play around with the tension on the straps for a week or so until you get it the way... you want it, as every clothesline has its own idiosyncrasies. If you find you have overhang on the centre and the appearance bothers you, you can either use Blutack, or double-sided electrical tape, though this might involve extra cleaning if you want to get rid of the residue when giving it the occasional wipe down. If you're really handy and have a mate who is a sailmaker or tarp camper, you can whack in an extra grommet in the centre and put a guy line to a wall, but this might be more trouble than it's worth- everyones' situation might be different. If you want to maintain it for a bit of extra life, try some UV protector that you use on the car's interior- your auto-goods store will stock it for cheap. All in all, a good product based on a good idea, well made and you're supporting a local business in a time when some consumer spending for the ol' GDP wouldn't go astray. It’s very well made, sturdy and is designed to fit securely. We had a strong winds a couple of days after I installed it. The Clevacover came through unscathed - the Hills Hoist didn’t fare so well. One of its arms had been weakened by an previous tree fall and broke during these winds.
