08.01.2022 Most above par By Dave Turnbull Cleve Foodland second par competition was held last Saturday however despite benign conditions most did not play to their handicap. Could it be their obsessive scanning the skies for heavy rain that did not come ?... The most focussed in div one was P Arnold with plus 3 runner up T Rodda plus 1 and in div two Jay Schubert plus 5 and runner up Tom Gillings plus 2. Nearest in two shots was Scott Elleway in div one and Tom Gillings in div two. Longest drive was Trent Rodda in div one and no one could find the fairway in div two so we saved a ball. Scores:- P Arnold + 3 T Rodda +1 S Elleway -5 Div 2 J Schubert +5 T Gillings +2 D Jenner square D Turnbull -1 B Schubert -2 N Fitzgerald -3 P Crosby -3 Other news this week is we are holding a come and try day for under 18 year olds on Sunday 30 th June at 10am. This is to not only encourage all kids to try golf and reduce their screen time but also to identify those that may qualify for this years Golf SA schools competition. Events will be held at Port LIncoln Whyalla and Streaky Bay later this year for those that qualify. So if you have any budding golfers under 18 bring them along on 30th June at 10am.
