21.01.2022 Have you seen our resident smoke bush, Cotinus coggygria? It is the most amazing sight to behold. Cotinus coggygria is a shrub/tree and come as named varieties such as Royal purple and Grace, these are both purple leaf varieties. Their flowers form a wispy feel making it look like smoke. Cotinus ‘Flame’ is a green leaf shrub/tree, some say it has better autumn colour than the purple leaf varieties. ... If you’re looking for a hardy plant, don’t look past a smoke bush. Viburnum opulus (European) and Viburnum macrocephalum (Chinese) are a small deciduous tree/shrub that suits a range of soils and very hardy once established.
