25.01.2022 For more information regarding how the government can assist you please see the link below for information directly from the treasury. - - https://treasury.gov.au/coronavirus

24.01.2022 I know a lot of people have been waiting for this, so I'll cut to the chase. On Tuesday 26 May all Prep, Grade 1 and 2, and all VCE, VCAL and specialist schoo...l students will return to classroom learning. All other year levels will return on Tuesday 9 June. And Monday 25 May will be a pupil-free day to make sure everything's ready to go. We'll still be offering on-site supervision during those two interim weeks for families who need it but by 9 June, all kids will be back to face-to-face learning in the classroom. Our Government will provide additional funding for daily cleaning and extra sanitiser and soap supplies. We'll prioritise testing for any Victorian school staff members who wish to do so, including those without symptoms. And we'll support teachers and staff at greater risk to continue working remotely. That includes older staff or those with underlying health conditions. Schools will be taking extra precautions too such as staggered drop off and pickup times to avoid lots of parents being in the same place at the same time. While we were working so hard to flatten the curve, it was really important not to have a million kids and their parents and carers moving around the community every day. But thanks to everyone's hard work, we're now able to make some changes. We always said we'd follow the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, and that our decisions would be based on evidence and they are. But it's only because people stayed home and stayed apart and hundreds of thousands of Victorians got tested that we have the data to back this up and the confidence to move forward. The next couple of weeks will be crucial, and I'll keep you posted every step of the way. I know wrangling a preppy while you're trying to work from home is a challenge. That studying for a SAC or an exam from the kitchen table was never going to be ideal. And that teaching a class of five-year-olds online is something no-one's ever been asked to do before. But thanks to the hard work and patience of parents, carers, teachers and staff, and students we've done it. And done it so well.

24.01.2022 How can your business withstand the impact of COVID-19? Weve compiled a few quick and easy tips to help you and your business!

24.01.2022 Hi everyone. Bit of good news for your Sunday morning. Because of our high rates of testing and our low levels of community transmission, were now able to pla...n for the coming weeks and getting back to a few more of the things everyones been missing. From 11.59pm on 31 May, well be increasing gathering limits to 20 people and allowing overnight stays. That means you can sleep over at a mates or rent somewhere for a weekend away. And more community facilities and businesses will be able to reopen including places like libraries, community centres, beauty therapy and tattoo studios. As with everything, these changes come with strict rules around distancing, density and hygiene. The contact details of customers and people using the facilities will also need to be recorded to allow tracing. Im sure people will have questions about why X is allowed if you cant do Y but this really isnt an exercise in whataboutery. Weve had to make some tough calls. We cant just open the floodgates on everything all at once, and risk throwing away all our hard work. I hope people appreciate this point. We have to be cautious and careful. Then, if it all goes to plan and were tracking okay with case numbers, well be able to make some more changes a bit later in the month. From 11.59pm on 21 June, that would include reopening gyms, indoor sports facilities, movie theatres and the snow season will be able to kick off. And finally, a message to all our employers out there. I really need your help on this one. I appreciate this isnt possible for all workplaces. But if your staff are able to work from home, and have been doing so we need to keep that going. We simply cant have thousands of people on trains and trams let alone the logistical challenges of communal kitchens, lifts and big office buildings. I know Ive said this before, but as we all have more choices and more options, its even more important: Just because you can do something, doesnt mean you should race out and do it. Weve come so far and its up to all of us to make this work.
