20.01.2022 Arnold press variation. This exercise is tough, and requires much stabilisation. If you start to wobble like this shot then lower the weight and work on smooth movement to incorporate more stabilising muscles. The benefit of this press is that you use more of the deltoid musculature and it involves rotation which is used in most movements of the shoulder we perform. ... Note: this is an advanced shoulder workout and not suitable for early stage injuries. #shoulderrehab #fitness

16.01.2022 Knee pain? Patella Tendinopathy can be a cause. If you have pain right on the bottom of your knee pain that gets worse after activities like squatting or running, this could be your diagnoses. Research has shown isometric exercises can help to reduce pain - we definitely see this in clinic. ... For isometric exercise you load the knee and hold that position for 10 seconds or more. We previously posted an isometric hold for biceps, this exercise is for quadriceps. Start with 5 reps and build up to 10 or 15!

16.01.2022 We love seeing growth! Thank you to everyone who has supported the growth of Click Physiotherapy. If you dont know what were about, google us!

15.01.2022 Do you have Achilles pain? This condition should respond very well to appropriate physiotherapy. What do we mean by appropriate treatment? There are many clinicians still prescribing stretches when we know that this probably aggravates the condition most times. ... Still too often the concept of load management is not discussed in any detail, where we know this essential for recovery. We recently wrote a blog titled 5 reasons your Achilles tendon exercises arent working. If you havent read it, then search for this in Google - it is worth the read. #achilles #achillespain

14.01.2022 Push up - technique With every exercise, technique counts. In this video the first few reps show proper technique, then the last couple are purposefully awful. ... The biggest mistake with pushups is you lose control of your pelvis, making it tilt which results in a backwards banana This means increased pressure through the lower back or lumbar spine. When you do an exercise, make sure your form is on point, this will develop the correct muscles and help you avoid injury! #pushup #exercise #rehabilitation

13.01.2022 You're doing calf raises wrong!! Check out this article to see where you have been cheating whilst performing the calf raise exercise - it seems simple enough, but there are many ways to compensate and not get the most out of the exercise. #calfraises... https://www.clickphysiotherapy.com.au/calf-raises/

13.01.2022 Compensation: Its difficult to keep form and focus on the weaker muscles during rehabilitation. Often our firm is lost as our body finds the path of least resistance. This seated row is an example of great form. You can see Rhomboids targeted with little swing of his upper body during the lift. Its not easy to do, but the results are worth it!... #rehabilitation #gymform

13.01.2022 Do stretches work for injury prevention? Probably not most research would suggest. What we recommend is some light exercise designed to get your stabilising muscles working to their full - the physio term is neuromuscular exercise. When you perform these exercises you are training pathways from your brain to that muscle. ... Below is one example to try before a leg workout! Do 20 repetitions and one to two sets. #injury #workout

13.01.2022 Posture is good but not everything. This video highlights the extremes to which you can take this. For more information on sitting posture check out this blog:... https://www.clickphysiotherapy.com.au/posture/

12.01.2022 How low do you squat?? This is a question thrown around so often and it can be hard to know. This is what we know: Squatting further than 90 degrees will increase quadriceps and glut activation. Squatting this low will also increase the stress through the knee and front of the hip. ... For us, this question depends on your goals and previous injuries. If you are recovering from a knee injury, it might be worth not going as deep to protect your joint. You can still load quadriceps and gluts without going fully through range. If your goal is to body build and you have had an injury, the key would be to start light weight in deep ranges and slowly progress over a few months. This will allow body adaptation. If youre struggling with recovery after an injury, contact us for your online assessment and treatment today! #injuryprevention #squat

07.01.2022 Struggle with shoulder pain? Try this warm up for cuff activation. Make sure the weight is light enough for no pain! Control through your shoulder blade is important. 07.01.2022 warm up exercise Can you guess what Caleb is doing?? This exercise involves shifting your weight onto one leg to activate your gluteal muscles.... Getting these activated can help to activate thigh muscles like VMO and this is ideal for hip and knee injuries. Key points with this exercise: shift your weight to one leg use your HIP muscles, not toes to lift the hip up (see where Caleb holds his hips) Stand really tall, lifting your chest, this will help activate glut med You should feel muscles working in the back and side of your hip Find out more by visiting Click Physiotherapy! #rehabilitation #warmup

02.01.2022 Tendon Tuesday For those with tendon pain (tendinopathies) there is good evidence that isometric exercise can help to reduce your pain!! What are isometric exercises? ... These are exercises where you put stress through the muscle, without moving the body part through range. For example, below Im holding that position instead of doing a full bicep curl. Our recommendation is to start with a weight that doesnt cause pain, and hold for 20 seconds. Repeat these five times a day. Share with someone who has tendon pain!! #tendinopathy #exercise
