20.01.2022 There’s an absolute buzz around the town this weekend as we welcome our Melbourne friends back to the country. We’re so excited to see your faces in our lovely little emporium. There’s a few things to note when visiting this weekend wherever you might be coming from. Please take a moment to read: Our dining room is FULLY BOOKED all weekend. We also have an extensive waiting list for these tables, so please come prepared for outside dining. We have plenty of seats along th...e verandah or in Wombat Street under the Linden trees. We are unable to provide our blankets during this time, so please come adequately dressed. We do not take reservations for outdoor tables, walk-ins only. Please observe all signs before entering our store. We will have host to greet you at the door and you may be asked to wait in a queue outside while our store is at capacity. We will do our best to get you in as soon as we can. Staff - please listen and observe our staff instructions at all times. They’re doing a lot more than they usually would during these times to keep you and our team safe. Please be kind, respectful and understanding. We have zero tolerance for anger, abuse or aggression towards our team. 16.01.2022 Our hearts are so full after a busy day seeing all our favourite friendly faces return to Cliffy’s once again for dine-in. We can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow. A reminder that our hours at the moment are slightly reduced to 8am-2pm. Hopefully, the weather turns it on again for us tomorrow. What a stunner!

A reminder, we will be OPEN Christmas morning from 8am-12pm, for our CFA fundraiser charity morning. This event will be takeaway only. We hope you will be able to join us for a cuppa for a good cause. We will then close from Dec 26-Jan 1st, to give our team and their families a well deserved break and will then reopen on Saturday January 2nd, 2021. 14.01.2022 There’s always something new in our mini-emporium. Yesterday’s Farmer Adam from Wombat Forest Organics arrived for his usual baguette and left us with some gorgeous Sebago and Dutch Cream potatoes. We’ve got 1kg bags, ready to go. A little insider, thanks to Beppe Kitchen + Bar, always use Sebago potatoes for Gnocchi to achieve silky little pillows of heaven. Buttery Dutch creams - well we all know they’re the true secret to achieving the perfect mash.

13.01.2022 Tomorrow is an exciting day for us in hospitality (and many other industries). For months our team have worked tirelessly, been stretched to work harder, run further, cook and prepare meals for you in extremely hot conditions ALL while having to wear a mask. We have experienced issues with understanding customers requests and making fools of ourselves (e.g. taking a customer an iced coffee when they asked for a nice coffee), we’ve called out ‘coffee for Jan’ instead of ‘coffe...e for Dan’, we’ve ran into barriers with hearing-impaired people who are unable to understand us without the ability to see our lips, we’ve had staff who have developed symptoms of anxiety from not being able to breathe adequately - but look how far we’ve come! We have made the decision to allow our staff to choose if they would like to continue wearing a mask and we offer that same choice to you when choosing to visit or dine with us as of tomorrow morning. Tomorrow, finally we get to share a smile once again. We will meet many of our newer customers properly for the first time! 11.01.2022 We can’t believe we’re saying this again but. CLIFFY’s is REOPENING for dining this Saturday! But once again, things are going to look a little different. Our mini-emporium has been packed up and we’ll be sad to see her go, but we’re excited to see our actual emporium shelves packed to the rafters with wonderful produce for you to discover. Our pie pantry, hot meals, baguettes and sweets will still be available to grab and go. Our deli fridge is being restocked with beautifu...l cheeses and wine to accompany of course. Our dining room has reopened but due to restrictions, we can only host a maximum of 8px at a time for one-hour sittings. As these seats will be in hot demand, we suggest booking online to avoid disappointment, via the booking button on our profile. The gorgeous spring weather we’ve seen this week is warmly welcomed as we reopen for outside dining under the verandah and bring back our terrace under the linden trees this Saturday (perfect for pooches too!). Due to the unpredictable weather we’ve learnt to love here in Daylesford, we’ve decided that outside tables will only be available on a walk-in basis (cannot be booked). We’re so excited to see all those faces we’ve missed over the past few months. Remember to book a table online if you do wish to sit inside, otherwise see you in the sun sometime soon!

10.01.2022 It’s almost time. Three more sleeps and Cliffy’s is back! However, we have new opening hours for January: Monday 8am - 3pm Tuesday - closed Wednesday - closed... Thursday 8am - 3pm Friday 8am - 3pm Saturday 8am - 4pm Sunday 8am - 4pm It’s always been a top priority for us to remain open 7 days a week. But the 2020 staffing crisis is real, and while every effort has been made to find wonderful additions to our team, we’ve sadly fallen short. We’ve made this decision to ensure that we are adequately staffed on the days we are open, so you can enjoy the customer experience we work hard to deliver and our staff aren’t stretched. It’s a balance we have to find that suits both our business and you as a visitor. It’s only for now, while we continue our search and the second we can return to 7-days we will. Handmade and stocked fresh every day, you’ll find a range of pasta and sauces in our emporium fridge, after 9am. This week you’ll find Tagliatelle, Tagliolini, Tagliolini Nero and Pappardelle in stock.... Our pasta is made early every morning, rolled and cut by hand, using only semolina and free-range eggs - it could only be fresher if you made it yourself! Simply cook for 5-7 minutes in boiling salted water, drain, combine with your favourite pasta sauce and perfecto! Give yourself an *Italian chef’s kiss* and buon appetito! @ Cliffy's Emporium

01.01.2022 Last night we unveiled this years Christmas window, ‘a White Christmas’. As always the window includes a once unloved and discarded tree that has been a feature at Cliffy’s Emporium for almost 15 years. Ray, a good friend of Cliffy’s Emporium, discovered the tree at the tip and restored its sparkle to bring Christmas cheer to our little shop. The tree is adorned by a collection of antique baubles, birds, fruits and vegetables (look for the onion and pickle!). We hope you enjoy our joyous window display this year. The window will be on display from Dec 1 - Dec 25, 24-hours including Christmas Carols.
