22.01.2022 Second person charged over Clifton Beach bottle shop break-in: A 16-year-old boy from Bungalow became the second person charged as part of continuing investigat...ions into the alleged forced entry of a Clifton Beach bottle shop last week. Police will allege entry was forced to the Captain Cook Highway premises just after 2am on January 3 and a significant quantity of liquor and cigarettes were stolen by several offenders who fled in a stolen vehicle. Cairns Property Crime Squad officers spoke with the boy yesterday afternoon and he was subsequently charged with one count each of breaking and entering premises and stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The charges follow those of a 21-year-old Bentley Park man who was charged earlier this week in relation to the same incident.

A sneak search... of the premises was conducted during which a set of car keys, an iPad and an iPhone were stolen. The car keys were used to steal a vehicle parked on the driveway. This vehicle was located abandoned on the Captain Cook highway in a damaged state. See more

Car was located in Mooroobool. 24/10 - Arlington Esp Unsuccessful attempt made to enter residence via balcony.

18.01.2022 Man charged over bottle shop break-in, Clifton Beach: A 21-year-old Bentley Park man was arrested and charged yesterday as part of continuing investigations int...o several matters, including the breaking and entry of a Clifton Beach bottle shop last week. Police will allege entry was forced to the Captain Cook Highway premises just after 2am on January 3 and a significant quantity of liquor and cigarettes were stolen by several offenders who fled in a stolen vehicle. Cairns Property Crime Squad officers attended a De Jarlais Street address at around 3.20pm yesterday where the man was taken into custody. He was charged with one count each of breaking and entering premises and stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Offend...ers gained entry via the rear door removing a camping fridge and a number of ropes. Steal from Vehicle 01/08 - 02/08 - Ribbon Cl Both the front and rear registration plates have been removed from the vehicle which was parked on the street outside of a residence. Qld registration plates 657SNY remain outstanding. Steal from Dwelling 25/07 - 06/08 - Satellite St Offender has gained access to the rear undercover patio area of a residence before removing a television from a cabinet. Investigations are continuing.

16.01.2022 Property charges, Cairns North and northern beaches: An 18-year-old Manoora man has been charged after he was located an Avocado Close residence yesterday foll...owing the execution of a search warrant by the Property Crime Squad. A 17-year-old Manunda boy was also charged after being located at a Manunda residence yesterday. Police will allege the pair were involved in a burglary and subsequent theft of a car from an Arlington Esplanade unit at Clifton Beach in the early hours on October 13. They were allegedly further involved in a burglary at a Smith Street residence at Cairns North on October 12 where a mobile phone, wallet and keys were stolen after entry was gained to the home. They were further charged with the unlawful entry of two cars at a Bosun Place residence at Trinity Beach on October 13. Cash was allegedly stolen and graffiti damage was caused inside one of the cars. The 18-year-old was charged with two counts of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of entering a premises. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today. The 17-year-old was charged with burglary, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and entering a premises.

Investigations continuing. 30/01 Arlington Esp 21-year-old Innisfail man charged after he allegedly gained entry to a manager’s residence at a unit complex. Multiple sets of keys stolen from kitchen bench. 05/02 Upolu Esp 51-year-old male and 36-year-old male, both from Manoora charged after they allegedly stole a bike, power tools and a television from a holiday home. 06/02 Barrier St Entry was forced to the home; men’s shoes and a personal electronic device was reported stolen. The offender/s fled after waking the resident. 08/02 Maori Cls Entry attempted through kitchen windows. Offender/s possibly disturbed by a dog at the residence. No property reported stolen. Wilful Damage 08/02 Beaver St A gate was damaged in an attempt to gain entry to the yard.

08.01.2022 Men charged over Clifton Beach break-in: Two Manoora men were charged yesterday afternoon following investigations into the unlawful entry and theft of property... from a holiday home at Clifton Beach earlier this week. It will be alleged entry was gained to the unoccupied Upolo Esplanade property at around 7pm on Wednesday evening. Television sets, a bicycle, powered gardening equipment and a power drill were allegedly stolen from the property. Investigations resulted in Smithfield detectives attending a Murray Street residence at Manoora at 11.30am yesterday. Two men were detained at the address after initially attempting to flee. A search warrant was executed at the address and a number of items of interest to the investigation were allegedly located and seized. The two men aged 36 and 51, were each charged with breaking and entering premises and stealing as well as possession of a drug utensil. The older man was further charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug as a result of the alleged location of quantities of Methylamphetamine and cannabis during the search. Both are expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 21.

08.01.2022 Weapon and drug charges, Clifton Beach: Cairns Property Crime Squad officers charged a 41-year-old Trinity Beach man on Sunday (April 12) with one count of poss...ess dangerous drug and possess weapon. It is alleged Smithfield first responders were on patrol at about 10.30pm on Saturday (April 11) when they intercepted the man at a business on The Captain Cook Highway, Clifton Beach. The man was in the company of two others and police conducted a search of the vehicle with the assistance of Police Dog Neo. Officers seized a break action twelve-gauge shotgun and two socks containing a quantity of cannabis. A 27-year-old Manunda woman was also charged with one count of possess utensil. Both are scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court in July.

Steal from vehicle 06/04 Clifton Rd Advertising magnets were stolen from a car park at the shopping centre.

04.01.2022 Clifton Beach arrest: A 24-year-old Clifton Beach man has been charged with 17 offences after being arrested on Monday night. Police will allege an Audi sedan w...as stolen during a burglary offence at Bayview Heights in the early hours of Monday (February 2). Police noticed the stolen vehicle in the Mossman and Port Douglas areas the same night and it was later seen travelling south on the Captain Cook Highway towards Cairns. Smithfield police successfully deployed tyre deflation devices at three locations along the highway, however the vehicle continued to be driven, despite all tyres being deflated. Police crews intercepted the vehicle on the Captain Cook Highway at Clifton Beach and arrested the driver after he initially attempted to flee on foot. He was charged with two counts each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property and attempted fraud. He was also charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, attempted stealing, unlicensed driving, evading police, fraud, obstructing police, stealing, possession of a drug utensil and wilful damage. The charges relate to offences allegedly committed at Cairns North, Earlville, Woree, Bayview Heights, Bungalow, Trinity Beach and Palm Cove between January 26 and February 3. The man is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court this morning.
