25.01.2022 Today is going to be hot! Below we've outlined a few key tips to help you out today: If you're working outdoors, wear a hat, sunscreen (the higher the SPF... the better), sunnies and long sleeves Drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your pee. If its not clear or pale straw, you need to drink more H20 Check in on your friends, family and neighbours. The heat affects the elderly and frail more than others If you don't have fans or air-con at home, head somewhere like a shopping centre, library or cinema Hop in a cool bath or shower, or wrap a wet wash cloth around your neck if you're feeling the heat If you're concerned about someone suffering heat stroke, phone 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) or in an emergency dial 000. #summer See more

24.01.2022 COVID-19 vaccine information in Queensland. The Australian Government has identified and prioritised groups of people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The... first people in Queensland to receive the vaccination are those who are at higher risk of getting COVID-19 or of severe illness if they contract the virus. If you are required to be tested frequently because of your daily work, then you will be the highest priority in Phase 1a. People in Phase 1a will be notified by Queensland Health in the coming weeks about when and where you can receive your vaccine. The full list of Queenslanders who fit into Phase 1b will be available soon. This vaccine effort is the greatest in global history and we only need to look overseas, to see a very different reality. We want to assure all Queenslanders, that everyone will have their time to receive the vaccine and we'll keep you updated with the latest information about COVID-19 vaccines, right here.

23.01.2022 6th January 2021 Well, Happy New Year. Not the sort of ending or beginning we wanted from 2020 and 2021 with the Gastro Lockdown. Thank you to the entire team for all the great work in containing and resolving the situation. At the time of writing, we are well past the required 72 hours without gastro symptoms, have completed the full deep clean and decontamination and have all areas of the site open once more. Everything we do is a team effort and another big Thank You to R...esidents, Patients, Families, and representatives, you are all part of the CCHS team and without your support we could not do what we do. Covid-19 entry requirements and protocols remain in place and I would ask everyone to pay particular attention to the interstate Hotspot declarations and what that means for potential visits to Hospitals and Aged Care in Qld along with increased vigilance of your own health. Please isolate and get tested if you have any symptoms as we now have the reports of Covid-19 traces in wastewater testing in Warwick and Stanthorpe. Please also note the recommendations to get tested if you have been to various parts of NSW and Victoria. In mid-February we are on track to formally open our Special Care Isolation room, this facility is part of our Pandemic response and has been made possible by some very generous people, it will be a unique resource for a small rural country town such as ours. More details over the coming month. 2020 really hampered our fundraising and has left a big hole in the budget. The CCHS Business Development Committee are proud to announce a major 2021 Fundraiser, Feast in the Fields. Please keep Saturday 13th March 2021 as a Date Claimer with more information to following and tickets going on sale later in January. Communication is the key and things continue to change rapidly. Please contact us to discuss your individual circumstances and as we always do, we will work with you and your loved ones to see what can be achieved. At the time of writing the rain is coming down and we have lost all power to Clifton and are operating on our emergency generators. Be Kind to each other and Together we will continue to make a difference. Regards Brad

12.01.2022 Whilst it’s not been as smooth a start to the year as we all would have liked, there sure is still plenty to be positive about! We’ve had some rain to freshen things up (and more of that to come hopefully), and it’s all hands on deck as we start making preparations for our big event in 2021 ‘Feast in the Field’. There are currently no known outbreaks or infectious cases in the Southern Downs area, however we can’t rule out the possibility that infectious persons were, or are still, in the area. People who have recovered from COVID-19 can have live or dead virus in their stool for weeks after recovery. Anyone with any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, should get tested immediately.
