23.01.2022 We're on the countdown now; only 2 sleeps to go... Ho, Ho, HoWe hope you all enjoy the last edition of the Clifton Courier for 2020 which is loaded with Christmas cheer; and we also hope that all of our readers have a happy and healthy holiday season! 22.01.2022 You all know by now how much we love a birthday here at the Courierso what a treat for us to be able to feature our latest local Nonagenarian in today's Courier; none other than the lovely Pearl Glasheen. (We also love it when people send us news and photos of recent weddings, anniversaries, births, christenings and other special events - so don't forget to give us a call or shoot us a message and keep us in the loop) . It's a pretty packed edition this week, with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month - head to page 2 for an informative read, and then to our Storm Season feature for some great tips for before during and after inclement weather. #welovekeepingyouinformed #welovelocalcelebrations #birthdayblessings #welovelocalnews

21.01.2022 "I thank God for the privilege of growing up in such a special place as Nobby with its friendliness, wonderful people and easy way of living" Olive Jean Shooter What a pleasure for our editor to cover the recent book launch of "My Memories of Nobby in the Forties and Fifties' penned by well-known local Mrs Olive Shooter. After you've read up on the well-attended event that features on this week's front page, keep on 'keeping on' for loads more news, including a multi-million dollar upgrade to facilities at Clifton State High School thanks to the Queensland Government, an update on the new Museum's progress, plus a handy rainfall chart for 2021 (that we hope gets a good work out next year!) #welovelocalstars #weloveagoodbitofnostalgia #wewoudloveagoodbitofrain

20.01.2022 It's been a tough year for everyone, not in the least the 2020 Year 12 cohort... However, our own Clifton State High School Seniors have given it their all and we were delighted to be able to feature some of the award winners (from all year levels) from the annual Presentation Ceremony in this week's Courier. Congratulations to all - 'Success Crowns Effort'! #weloveschoolpride #welovesuccessstories #welovelocalnews

18.01.2022 "Covid may have changed the way we do things these days, but it doesn't have to stop us enjoying life as much as we can" Wise words from Jade Gilchrist (Lifestyle & Volunteer Coordinator, Clifton Community Health Services), who is responsible for organising this year's online Senior's Week Concert. Head to page 6 to read all about how we can all still celebrate the importance of our 'golden-agers' during Senior's Week from 15 August - 23 August #weloveagoodcelebration #welovelocalnews #wedontlovecovid19

16.01.2022 Ahh sunflowers are so full of cheer...and there's plenty of that in the latest edition of The Courier. Our roving reporter was on hand to capture images at the 'official' opening of Sunflower Lodge, the new dementia care facility at Clifton Community Health Services. Whilst the centre was able to hold an open day earlier in the year, last Wednesday's formal event was held to recognise donors and that fact the the unit is now a real part of the community. We've also got all th...e details from the Annual General Meetings of the Clifton Co-Op Hospital and Clifton Meals on Wheels, pics from the Nutrien Harcourts Cooke biggest morning tea, and news of local SES member Tony Fenner's Life Membership award.. 01.01.2022 In tough times it makes it that extra bit special when members of the community work together. Local businessman Dave Robertson from QB Industries was nice enough to donate a new safety roll bar for the quad bike at Clifton State High School. Dave also donated a helmet for every student currently involved in Rural Operation studies. It’s safe to say the students were extremely thankful for the generosity shown. Catch up on this and more great local news in the week's Courier ... out now! Thanks Clifton State High School for the photo.
