18.01.2022 Well, after a 5 month hiatus we finally got a good size job out the door. The Clifton Productions team have just completed the build of our very own 22x18m Apollo ground support structure for the Horne v Tszyu fight at Queensland County Bank Stadium. Our QLD based team was able to freely travel to Townsville for the installation with no border restrictions. Thanks to the hard work of our staging team headed by Jason Marrable, and great support from Robbie Barclay, Denis Sheehan, No fuss Events and the venue team.

16.01.2022 WWE Showdown King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, KSA Clifton Productions have just completed delivering the staging structures for the WWE SHOWDOWN event in Saudi Arabia. After some late changes in confirmation of venue and date, CP received confirmation that the job was proceeding with 6 days’ notice.... In that time frame we were tasked to finalize the design with the client, complete drafting and engineering, generate lists, source and prep the equipment and have the containers loaded and ready for transit. A logistical challenge overcome by the CP team and a fast responding client. Engineering calculations and certification was provided by Richard Matheson and the team at van der Meer Consulting. The scope was to provide the same ring structure and FOH broadcast facilitates as CP provided for the MCG event in 2018. We also had a full set of finally designed roof and valance sheets which were finessed, fabricated and printed here in Australia by Reveal Productions. The ring structure trimmed at 18m, and supported 64 ton of video, lighting and audio. The entrance stage required a new design from the previous event to support the 35 ton of video of lighting, all rigged from the cantilever of the stage. For this we designed an 8 post Hercules roof which easily catered for the heavy cantilevered load and left us with an excess rigging capacity of approx. 200 ton in the roof. Good to know its there if we needed it. Whilst Shane Runge was making room and prepping the designed structures in the Melbourne yard, Jason Marrable the appointed Project Manager assembled his key personnel to work through equipment lists and prepare and load the rest of the equipment for sailing, as the design and engineering was getting completed in unison. The job required 15,000 components, at a total weight of 298 ton to be loaded into 20 of CP’s containers. CP containers are fitted out with internal tracks so heavy equipment can be packed and unloaded minimizing risk, the use of cranes and costly open top containers. The Logistics and shipping were handled expertly by Soundmoves, a US based logistics company. The challenges did not finish there with the VISA process proving to be difficult whilst Jason assembled his delivery team and made travel arrangements at short notice. Whilst working through the on-ground challenges of language and cultural barriers, intense heat, high humidity and sandstorms, the CP team rallied to deliver on schedule to the expectations of our client and stakeholders. It is testament to the CP Crew and the professionalism of all our team - from the yard guys to design/ drafting and operational staff - that made this event such a great success. A big shout out to all our staff and suppliers for their hard work and support. CP crew are the best.
