25.01.2022 This is one of those stories that we need right now, reminding us of the tremendous families on the land. Members of the farming community reaching out with a positive message for every young #girlfarmer , and one in particular. Father stunned by response after asking for help convincing his daughter that girls are farmers too http://www.abc.net.au//women-in-agriculture-show-/12130138

24.01.2022 Today sees the National Farmers Federation commit to a net zero carbon emissions economy by 2050. Encouragingly, our forward-thinking carbon farming partners are already on track to achieve 20M tonnes of carbon reductions by the end of this year, and we expect them to hit 100M tonnes by 2025. https://nff.org.au/m/nff-calls-for-net-carbon-zero-by-2050/

24.01.2022 Do you love science? And agriculture? You might like this series of short presentations as a part of #NationalScienceWeek, happening Thursday 20th in the evening. Victoria based but dealing with issues that affect us all - water, resilience, biodiversity. Free to register at this site. https://inspiringvictoria.org.au/event/resilient-future/

23.01.2022 Maybe its time to plan your roadtrip! And for those of us not in QLD, were looking forward to being able to visit your incredible outback once again.

23.01.2022 Start your week with a Red Wing Parrot, because Monday. This photo from "Bossy", one of our team who is western Queensland born and bred. If youd like to read more about his life beyond work for Climate Friendly then check the link.... https://bit.ly/2DsNk1Y

23.01.2022 Some words to remind us of the contribution, past and future, to the Land that is found within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture. "Our adaptation and intimate knowledge of Country enabled us to endure climate change, catastrophic droughts and rising sea levels. Always Was, Always Will Be. acknowledges that hundreds of Nations and our cultures covered this continent. All were managing the land - the biggest estate on earth - to sustainably provide for t...heir future. Through ingenious land management systems like fire stick farming we transformed the harshest habitable continent into a land of bounty." Naidoc 2020.

22.01.2022 Wed love you to share pics of your land, now with added water This amazing shots from one of our project partners above Cuttaburra, QLD. #carbonfarming #aussiefarmers

22.01.2022 Good morning Monday!

22.01.2022 The Climate Friendly Team offer our our deepest condolences to Tony Lovells family and the team at SLM Australia at this time. Tony was an inspirational and committed carbon farming partner, and a leading thinker in the regenerative and sustainable agricultural space. Despite health challenges in recent months, Tony continued to engage us with new ideas, and his humour and persistent optimism will be missed. His contagious enthusiasm motivated us to keep innovating as we wo...rk to tackle the climate challenge. We will endeavour to honour Tonys memory by building on his foundations toward sustainable land management through our work with SLM Australia and other partners in carbon farming. (Its not the cow, its the how, Rest In Peace Tony Lovell) https://www.facebook.com/slmaustralia/posts/682696275639312

20.01.2022 A great visualisation on the resilience of regeneration.

20.01.2022 Fresh grazing! Wonderful new vegetation and happily feeding cattle at a Climate Friendly partner project in Queensland. #carbonfarming #rains #sustainable #farming #environment

20.01.2022 Meet Bossy and Elvis. Bossy is one of our project managers based in western Queensland, and hes passionate about polocrosse. https://climatefriendly.com/in-the-paddock-a-conversation-/

19.01.2022 A great example of farmers adopting new practices when they see the benefit (something our carbon farming partners practice right from the start). https://www.abc.net.au//drone-musters-cattle-safe/12468058

18.01.2022 Get your quiz-head on and celebrate International Day for Biological Diversity 2020! One of the incredible things about many of carbon farming projects is the additional benefits they bring to the land and the environment. Healthy bush supports a diverse range of species. These 6 pasture species were sampled from just one project since the last rainfall. Do you know what they are? Answers in the comments below :)... In the meantime, about those additional benefits of carbon farming... 1. Reforestation of landscapes using native tree and shrub species can contribute to biodiversity conservation as well as climate mitigation. 2. Assisted natural regeneration (i.e.most of our partners projects) use low-cost techniques to assist in the natural re-establishment of vegetation from residual seeds and plants at the site. 3. Naturally regenerating vegetation is comprised of diverse mixtures of native species adapted to local conditions, resilient to local climate variation and disturbance and provides superior habitat for local fauna as a result of the increased plant and structural diversity. 4. Recognising the ecological co-benefits of carbon farming (e.g. QLD LRF) means regeneration projects can be targeted to help protect threatened wildlife, habitat and ecosystems. So to cut that short - good for the land, good for the stock, good for the environment, and good for helping our #carbonfarmers stay on the land for a vibrant rural Australia.

17.01.2022 At Climate Friendly we talk a lot about "net zero" - it's a driver for our purpose to reduce Australia's greenhouse gas emissions by 100 million tonnes by 2025. And we'll do this by helping to develop a sustainable and productive agricultural sector. Here's a simple explainer of 'net zero emissions' that appeared in FarmOnline the other day. https://www.farmonline.com.au//whats-the-deal-with-net-ze/... #carbonfarming #netzero #agriculture #farming

17.01.2022 Good news for many of our carbon farming partners as rains hit western Queensland, heralding new growth. To paraphrase the famous song "I'm dreaming of a green Christmas". #carbonfarming #graziers #farming http://ow.ly/Ymgu50Ch6LJ

17.01.2022 Farmers are feeling pretty positive in the face of COVID-19. The view is that because "people need to eat" it can only be good for producers and growers as overseas supply is hit. Thats what this research shows....if youre on the land, does it reflect how you feel? https://www.theland.com.au//forget-the-pandemic-panic-ag/

16.01.2022 Today is #worldhealthday and this is one year when Im sure we are all especially grateful for our nurses, midwives and health workers. #supportnursesandmidwives #covid19

16.01.2022 What you get to see on the road with Climate Friendly!

14.01.2022 At Climate Friendly were always looking at emerging trends not only in carbon farming but other technology and science that has an impact on the carbon sector in one way or another. Electric vehicles can be polarising but they are slowly making inroads into Australia. This company in Tasmania is taking an innovative approach to reduce the purchase price of an EV by imprint second hand vehicles from Japan. They hope to accelerate the take-up of electric vehicles as a away t...o speed along the infrastructure build of public charging stations, and turbo-charge the development of virtual battery banks and other clever ways to make EVs pull above their weight. Wed love to know your thoughts and feel free to carry on with the car puns :) https://www.theguardian.com//electric-cars-green-recovery-

12.01.2022 Carbon-Jargon Buster! If you or people you know struggle with some of the convoluted carbon jargon flying around then here is an understandable explainer from an expert. Carbon farmers will interested in the second half of the article because it highlights the importance of pulling carbon OUT of the atmosphere (carbon-negative action) in order to manage the climate challenge. In other words, that means using carbon farming like native vegetation regeneration and soil carbon m...ethods to suck carbon out fo the air and into the land. What the article doesn't mention are the valuable co-benefits of these methods including improved resilience, soil productivity and biodiversity. http://ow.ly/xcVL50DaSjJ

12.01.2022 Theres an exciting opportunity for carbon farming to capture 2.5bn tonnes of carbon in the next few years. Skye Glenday, Climate Friendly CEO, joins the Carbon Market Institute and friends in conversation about the big future for carbon reduction in the land sector. Check the link, 24 July video (esp. from 13m20s for Skye). http://ow.ly/h2RN50ASaii

12.01.2022 A big bird nearly hidden by some big grass! Its great to see the rains bringing new life into partners projects. This Bustard is a relatively rare sight at the Kiandra project, QLD. #carbonfarming #climatefriendly

10.01.2022 "Market Advisory Group managing director Raphael Wood said investment in Australian carbon credits was doubling every year..." A short read on the increasing interest in Australian carbon credits that are widely recognised as being high-quality (meaning reliable, credible and often with a back-story of additional social and environmental benefits). #carbonfarming #climate #carbon #farming... https://www.smh.com.au//investors-place-australian-bets-on

08.01.2022 We mark the start of National Reconciliation Week 2020, and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of our country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to the Elders past, present and emerging. #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020

08.01.2022 Who wouldnt want to increase their companys market value by 5%? (This is a bit longer than usual, but worth the read.) The worlds first robust study (http://ow.ly/IQOw50Af8ch) into the impact of female CEO on a business has put a number on their impact - a 5% increase in market value for their organisation. It appears the way to do this could be as straightforward as ensuring diversity at key leadership positions in your organisation. There is more nuance to this top line... result, but it boils down to this straightforward message to Boards everywhere - ensure diversity at the top and the company will perform better. Climate Friendly has diversity embedded within its core values and way of working. Over 50% of our team are women, as are 30% of the senior management team, including Skye Glenday who was appointed as our CEO from 1 January 2020 (see the announcement here http://ow.ly/Z9Cy50Af8ci ) As a profit-for-purpose company, we see profitability as the measure of how well we are tracking to deliver on our environmental purpose to reduce emissions by 20 million tonnes by 2020, scaling up to 100 million tonnes by 2025. Our people are the foundation of the companys success, and any growth in our value means an increase in the environmental, social and economic benefits delivered with our carbon farming partners.

07.01.2022 Some people are nervous about food shortages. Well, most of our partners run diversified agricultural enterprises, so like this video says, we think theyve got our back. If you like beer, then this is an even better message! #aussiefarmers #wegotthis https://www.facebook.com/SouthBunarbaAgriculture/videos/659111424851508/

03.01.2022 Were all adapting to changes right now, but with border closures between QLD and NSW theres another one some of our carbon farming partners are dealing with! Fortunately it sounds like local councils are adapting to this as well, putting in place lockable gates that can be opened by locals needing to travel back and to on their property. https://www.abc.net.au//queensland-new-south-wal/12168786

03.01.2022 Today is World Environment Day. Involving sustainable land management practices, #carbonfarming can provide many additional environmental outcomes as well as reductions in greenhouse gases. Depending upon the project, those benefits can include improved biodiversity, better soil health, greater water retention and reductions in damage caused by feral wildlife. ... The 100+ projects supported by Climate Friendly have generated over 20M Tonnes of CO2 abatement, equivalent to a mature eucalyptus forest of over 13 million trees. A real win-win for the environment and carbon farmers. If you want to know more, check out the link for the work being carried out by Accounting for Nature into the co-benefits of carbon farming. #carbonfarming #ForNature #worldenvironmentday https://www.accountingfornature.org
