25.01.2022 Corey testing out "office mode" in the new Climb Culture HQ on wheels late into the night. We have spent the last 2 months (since returning to Australia from London) converting a 2016 Renault Master into a tiny home and office on wheels. We'll be traveling around Australia visiting all the best crags, gyms, stores and comps and documenting it all for you. ... We hope to be inspired by the new friends we meet and adventures we do to create more great designs and products. 23.01.2022 So many climbers lives were rocked (pun intended) by the many tragic events of 2020. Losing access to our gyms, crags and therefore in a lot of ways, our identities had a huge impact on the mental health of climbers worldwide. Getting back on the rock after such a long break was both scary and exciting. It was also a great reminder as to why we fell so deeply in love with the sport. If you are tentative about getting back on the wall just start small and work your way up. 19.01.2022 Our upcoming Australia tour! The recent global pandemic put a big spanner in the works for us. We had to pack up our lives in London and move back very abruptly. Our initial plan was to spend the next 2 years in Europe expanding the company over there but this has now changed. 16.01.2022 OUR TAKE ON RISK MANAGEMENT Today we found an amazing looking beachside crag at Cape Hillsborough. The location was epic, the climbing looked really interesting and it was graded well for our ability. We were VERY keen to climb there but we didn''t... and here's why. 1. The last documented climb done here was in 2017... 2. The origins of the bolter and therefore the bolts is unknown 3. It's a seaside crag so knowing proper bolts were used is a must 4. If a bolt was to fail the fall was onto jaggered rocks, not sand 5. The grades were at or above our onsight limit so a fall was likely 6. Permission to climb here has not been sought our given There are so many amazing places that we want to climb in the future that don't have any of these issues, making it was an easy decision for us not to risk it. Doing a bit of research on a new area before you launch into it head first is a good habit to develop. 13.01.2022 Taipan Wall is one of the latest casualties in Parks Victoria's ethically and commercially illiterate crusade against climbing. This amazing place has been a bucket list area for climbers for decades and has attracted international climbing royalty including; @alexhonnold... @hazel_findlay @chris_sharma @_linacolina_ Without any consultation with the climbing community, climbing here was completely banned over night with heavy fines in place for non compliance. This is just the latest in a string of similar moves pulled Parks Victoria in the Grampians. During a time where climbing businesses and communities are already struggling these latest bans may be the straw that breaks the camels back for those based in the Grampians. As a community we have to do whatever we can to regain access to these areas and protect it for the generations of climbers to come. Driving up into the Blue Mountains is like entering a fortress, for once you are up in them, you are on a plateau surrounded on all sides by cliffs. It is in this almost suburban bush surrounding, that some of Australia's best climbing resides.
