25.01.2022 Why talk pleasure with young people? *** There is often a lot of uncertainty about why and how to include pleasure as part of youth sexuality education. Incl...uding pleasure as part of sex ed is a way to open the conversation to include respectful relationships, consent and gender equity. The text from this post is from an episode of our podcast Doing It in conversation with SHQ - Sexual Health Quarters You can find the episode here https://bit.ly/PleasurePerspective See more

24.01.2022 Today is International Safe Abortion Day *** We are proud to be a provider of telehealth medication abortion. Medication abortion involves a pregnant person... taking two types of medication: mifespristone followed by misoprostol to end a pregnancy up to nine weeks gestation. It is safe and effective, and removes the physical barriers to abortion that many people face, particularly in rural and regional areas where there are fewer abortion providers. It allows people to manage their abortions without surgery, multiple appointments or time away from families. If you would like to know more, visit www.fpv.org.au or call us on 1800 013 952 to book an appointment. @SPHERECRE have written an article outlining why telehealth medication abortion is so important. You can read it here http://bit.ly/MJATelehealth If you live in Victoria, you can also contact @1800MyOptions to find an abortion provider in your area. #IManageMyAbortion #InternationalSafeAbortionDay #MyBodyMyChoice #AbortionIsEssential #AbortionisHealthcare #AbortionIsARight #ISAD

19.01.2022 has often been thought of as a historic STI of war times and the days pre-penicillin but this bacterial infection is seeing a HUGE resurgence. It has ...serious implications for pregnancy and birth. Further testing particularly of cis women is being highly encouraged. It is transmitted through oral sex, penetrative sex (vaginal and anal) and through skin to skin contact with an infected area. Most often it goes without symptoms or symptoms like a painless ulcer around the genitals or non-itchy rash on the torso go away quickly. Some people can develop neurological symptoms if it progresses to neurospyhpilis Via a blood test. To ensure the infection is cleared another blood test is required 3 months later. A swab of an ulcer can also be taken. It is treated with two injections of Benzathine Penicillin one in each butt cheek. To ensure it is cleared do not engage in sexual activity for 7 days after treatment and have another blood test 3 months after treatment. 18.01.2022 Happy World Sexual Health Day! This month's @wasworldsexualhealth theme is 'Sexual Pleasure in the time of COVID-19'. This year's theme is based on the Decla...ration on Sexual Pleasure of the WAS World Congress held in Mexico City in 2019. Across the globe, COVID-19 has had a huge impact on gender equality, gendered violence and access to sexual and reproductive health care and rights. While we must maintain advocacy and activism on these issues, we need to also discuss the positive outcomes of sexuality. It's important to highlight the possibility of sexual lives free from violence and coercion, full of choice, respect and communication. Sexual pleasure is connected to our sexual rights and wellbeing - in all communities. Join us this month as we ‘Prioritise Pleasure’ across our social media. #FpvPrioritisePleasure #WorldSexualHealthDay2020 #WSHD2020 #SexualPleasureCovid #pleasurematters #sexysafersex #pleasureisprogress

07.01.2022 All vulvas are unique *** A key part of having access to sexual pleasure is having knowledge about our bodies. Often we refer to the 'vagina' when we mean t...he 'vulva'. There's lots of confusion about the wording and it's not surprising! Many people have never received education about the vulva anatomy or know the correct names for all of its parts. There also hasn't been much diversity in vulva representation in porn, media and anatomy books. Historically and culturally, a lot of sterotypes about what vulvas SHOULD look like have persisted. But they really are as unique as our faces and there is no one 'perfect' vulva. Slide 3 shows a vulva anatomy illustration by Vielma Slide 4 - *This may include labiaplasty (cosmetic or otherwise), genital reconfiguration surgery for some trans women and non binary people, consensual or non consensual surgery on intersex people and traditional female genital cutting.
