Enzalutamide improving survival rate of prostate cancer A landmark study led by the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate (ANZUP) Cancer Trials Group has shown that 80% of men with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer who received the non-steroidal anti-androgen medicine enzalutamide along with the standard of care treatment were alive after 3 years compared with 72% of men who received other NSAAs along with standard treatment. 15.01.2022 #COSA20 is going fully virtual! We have been monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 and adapting as required. As there are still many uncertainties, particularly with travel and border restrictions, the COSA board has made the decision to take this years ASM virtual and not have any in-person components. We thought it was important to make the decision and convey it as quickly as possible. ... 05.01.2022 There are clear benefits for all cancer patients that #quitsmoking with regards to survival, cancer recurrence, treatment and quality of life. Our new Smoking Cessation in Cancer Patients paper is a practical, evidence-based resource for #oncology health professionals delineating how best practice smoking cessation care can be provided & implemented within the Australian #healthcare system. The AAH (ask, advise, help) three-step brief advice model of care for smoking cessation can be used by all oncology clinicians. Oncology clinicians are not expected to deliver multi-session behavioural interventions themselves, unless they have the desire to do so and have undergone necessary additional training.
