24.01.2022 PDO threads Looks scary but this is all it is! A local anaesthetic is used to numb the area to ensure the patient is comfortable throughout the treatment. A full PDO lift takes approx 60 minutes. Results generally take upwards from 8 weeks but oh my gosh! Those who have them, love them! ... 11.01.2022 Im just going to get straight into it.. Filler migration, its a thing! No! Its not always the injectors fault. Theres nothing I loathe more than seeing a reputable cosmetic nurse post about Lip filler correction and within the post they bash the previous injector. This is not only unethical but 8/10 times incorrect. ... The truth is, a year ago I had a patient receive treatment from another cosmetic nurse. The patient was told her lips had been filled incorrectly and needed them to be Hylased (dissolved). The patient contacted me in anger, upset and angry. As a cosmetic nurse for the past 5 years I was extremely hurt, I was so upset that I almost lost confidence in my work that I wanted to throw the towel in. Not only did I have a competitor slagging my work but a unhappy patient who believed everything this nurse was saying. So after many mental breakdowns, I went on a mission to find what I was doing wrong. I literally went to every superior I knew and asked them to watch me inject. I honestly did around fifteen patients, each with a different doctor or nurse. It wasnt until I was injecting my last patient that a nurse practitioner laughed at me . Leah she said, You have an amazing technique and hundreds of happy patients, why are you focusing on this one patient. Havent you ever heard of filler migration. Now in a long story short, filler migration is a thing and not just from a technique or poorly paced filler. Filler migrates in all of us, just a quick google search and youll find some interesting statistics from doctors all over the world. The point to my post is - Filler can migrate and happens to the best of us - I personally have filler migration and Ive seen many reputable nurses and doctors - If your filler migrates embrace having it dissolved - If youre a cosmetic physician and youre speaking poorly of others, refer back to your code of conduct and remember to be mindful and ethical The patient above has recently had her upper lip dissolved due to filler migration, I will post before & afters soon. After years of lip filler treatments migration for her was inevitable, no blame to her precious injector.
