20.01.2022 This weekend we had our biggest doorknock yet, and the fantastic Belmont Team and I are just getting started. This Saturday we were joined by Jessica Openshaw, Greens candidate for Armadale as we met with many members of the Cloverdale community. We heard the frustrations that people have with the status quo of corporate money in politics and the lack of action on climate change. The Greens (WA) are a grassroots party that represent the interests of the community. It's an exciting movement to be part of, and anyone can join. To get involved, send me a message or follow the link here: https://greens.org.au/wa/volunteer

16.01.2022 This weekend we had our 8th and final doorknock for 2020. We spent the morning having great conversations with residents in Belmont and Rivervale. Our community is asking to be represented in our parliament. At the moment our voices are being drowned out by those that are favoured through corporate money. We can leave a legacy for the next generations to enjoy or a mess for them to clean up. We need real and urgent transition to renewable energy industries to create jobs no...w and opportunites for the kids of tomorrow. We are just getting started here in Belmont, and 2021 is going to be huge. I'm looking forward to working with more new campaigners in 2021 as our team grows. If you want to find out more, send me a message or register here: https://greens.org.au/wa/volunteer

11.01.2022 As a Noongar person, I understand the importance of managing our land and water - as the health of the community is only as strong as the health of our environment. My ancestors carefully managed their country for thousands of years - to ensure the next generation would be provided for. We have watched in real time the full horror of the climate crisis - when we don’t show genuine care for the country that nurtures us, we all suffer. We’re tired of watching governments and th...eir agencies pay lip service to First Nations people while at the same time destroying the very land they claim to respect; expanding fracking and gas projects, letting Rio Tinto blow up the Juukan Gorge, and destroying our native forests in acts of cultural and environmental vandalism. Caring for country is climate justice. We must work together to get more Greens voices in parliament so we can represent the interests of the people rather than the interests of the fossil fuel companies who donate to the major parties. Take a look at our plan here: https://greens.org.au/wa/platform/climate

10.01.2022 For the WA State Election, The Greens (WA) have released a plan that will tackle the climate crisis and transitions WA to a zero-carbon economy by investing in clean, green industries. Our plan will create thousands of jobs, reduce our emissions and make WA a world-leading renewable energy exporter. Our communities are facing unprecedented challenges and natural disasters. What 2020 has shown is that Governments can invest in the things that matter if they want to, it’s just ...that they’re choosing to listen to their corporate donors. The Greens are committed to championing urgent action on climate change. We have released our plan to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2030, turning WA into a world-leading renewable energy exporter, and creating thousands of jobs right here in our backyard. This plan will revive manufacturing in WA and accelerate our transition to a zero-emissions economy by phasing out gas and coal and banning fracking. We will ensure that bold government investments leave no one behind, creating 10,000 jobs per year right across WA. We’ll drive our economy into the future, by turning WA into a world leading renewable energy exporter. This State Election is a chance to ensure we elect more Greens MPs to Parliament to champion urgent action on climate change and force Labor to be accountable and take the transformative action we need to solve the climate crisis and propel WA’s economy into the future. But we can’t do it without you, join the fight for a future for all of us - sign up to volunteer today.

06.01.2022 This Saturday we’re door knocking in Belmont for our last door knock of 2020! Come volunteer and help us put together a huge grassroots campaign to challenge the major parties at the next State Election. We’ll provide you with everything you need know to get started door knocking, so come down to Faulkner Park on Saturday morning and help us talk to as many people as we can!

03.01.2022 This is the critical decade in which to tackle climate change, and yet the Labor and Liberal parties are working for their gas and coal donors rather than our communities who are demanding real and meaningful action on climate change. Our communities are facing unprecedented challenges and natural disasters. What 2020 has shown is that Governments can invest in the things that matter if they want to, it’s just that they’re choosing to listen to their corporate donors. Action ...can’t wait. Aspirations mean nothing. The Greens are committed to championing urgent action on climate change. We have released our plan to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2030, turning WA into a world-leading renewable energy exporter, and creating thousands of jobs right here in our backyard.
