24.01.2022 2016 - Over 3 years ago I had a dream. With research into Avascular Necrosis, 3am webinars to listen & chat to AVN Orphan Disease experts USA & discussions wi...th Sophies specialists, realisation of future surgeries, treatment possibilities and accessibility needs for Sophie, became apparent. It began with a dream, designing and building Sophie... our family a custom designed home, that would cater with ease, for Sophie’s needs in these varied scenarios. Being open to and assisting with big plan changes to meet these needs, the team at Home Group South West were the chosen builder. Applied for finance and found a block.... only for the deal to fall over at settlement. Not prepared to give up on #builingthedream 12 months went by, enabling additional research about accessible living, and saving more $$$. 2018 - attempt #2, same builder, new SUPERSTR Sale Rep - Clint, new finance application, new (bigger) block, new plan, this time adding the flexibility for a section of the home to suitable for future (accessible)independent living. We have endured the most fun, Craziest, scariest, full-on, worrisome, financially stressful, but also the MOST REWARDING 12 months. Sophie has had 3 major (orthopaedic) surgeries. We have learned that understanding and prioritising Mental health and well-being has become a necessity for both Sophie and myself, equally as important as physical health. Fast forward again to NOW! We DID it!!! We #builtthedream2019! For a little over a week, we have been moving and settling in to our new home. The space and accessibility is already obviously assisting with Sophies daily living needs. With a injured/damaged ‘Cruciate Ligament’ and surgery imminent, we are looking to be settled in our new home for ease of Soph’s recovery, in the not too distant future. BIG Thankyou to builders, tradesmen, admin staff and everyone that assisted with building the dream our beautiful, comfortable, Custom Designed House. A home where Sophie and our family, will be able to live in a safe & comfortable environment , meeting and exceeding future surgery & chronic disease healing/recovery and accessibility needs.

22.01.2022 Together, Western Australians have done a mighty job. We’ve worked together while staying apart to flatten the curve and save lives. That’s why, earlier thi...s week, our Government made the cautious decision to ease restrictions in WA. This decision is based on the best medical advice in the country, and will be reviewed regularly as the global pandemic continues. From now on, indoor and outdoor non-work gatherings are relaxed to allow for up to 10 persons, lifted from the two person limit. The list of reasons to leave home has also been expanded, but we should all be mindful of the four square metre rule and existing travel restrictions. While we've had some outstanding results recently, we need to remain vigilant. Any complacency will undo all our efforts in stemming the virus here in WA. So please stick to the rules, look after yourselves, and do your part to flatten the curve even further in our State.
