23.01.2022 So my time in Taiwan has finished up with a solid two days of friendly competition. The competition consisted of turning, milling, welding and a Fixturelaser Alignment and condition monitoring tasks. This was a great experience traveling to another country to train for a blind project and to use foreign machines and equipment. Thank you to Worldskills Chinese Taipei for inviting Peter Buttenshaw and myself over to train and to visit Taiwan the hospitality was amazing, it was... truly a amazing experience! Thanks to Peter as well for guiding me along the way. I now make the trek to Kazan Russia to compete in the Russian National Competition later this week. Watch this space for updates! #Skillaroos19 #RealSkillsforRealCareers #WorldSkills #WorldSkillsAU

11.01.2022 After three busy days of competition and getting over jet lag I’m finally all finished up at the Russian worldskills national competition. It has been a great experience competing in Kazan Expo centre where I’ll be competing in August. I was happy with the project I made which had lots of different techniques and skills required to make the final product in a tight time line. I also had to use a coupling alignment tool which was in Russian which was interesting but I got the job done A special thank you to WorldSkills Russia For letting me compete at the competition and also to the Aussie experts/competitors, Russian experts, interpreters and guides that made this all possible. #Skillaroos19 #RealSkillsforRealCareers #WorldSkills #WorldSkillsAU

04.01.2022 Last week I was lucky enough to spend two days with Lincoln Electric Australia to practice and get familiar with the Lincoln Powerwave welder, which I’ll be using in Russia in the coming months. I’m now lucky enough to have this welder for a couple of weeks to practice by myself at work and I can’t thank Lincoln Australia enough for lending me the machine and consumables. Thankyou to all the staff and technicians that helped me get familiar with the machine and how too prepare the material for the up and coming competition which is not long away at all! #Skillaroos19 #RealSkillsforRealCareers #WorldSkills #WorldSkillsAU
