25.01.2022 CLINTON SENIOR MEN'S RESULTS It took the clubs top team 32 minutes to break the young Clinton Greens defence in their match at home on Saturday night. Credit must go to the young Green side who really gave their all and are gaining confidence every week which is a very exciting prospect for the club....Continue reading

23.01.2022 CLINTON SENIORS PRELIMINARY FINAL RESULTS At the start of the season the goals for the Clinton Green team were to make the top four and then the Grand Final. Well they can tick both of those off now after their 2-1 win knocked the more experienced BITS team out of the Div. 1 Men’s Premiership race. It was always going to be a tough year for the Greens made up of mainly 16 and 17 year olds, with a pinch of maturity in some great older heads to help these young men flourish a...Continue reading

22.01.2022 CLINTON SENIORS RESULTS After a mid week 1-0 win against BITS the Division 1 Clinton Ressies were again up against the Islanders on Saturday night. It was another tough battle ending in a 1-1 draw which was a fair result and good indication of the match. Caleb Holmwood had another strong game, scoring the goal and was named Player of the Match. Keeper Liam Gifford made some outstanding saves with Isaac Ridgeway and Tai Doran also playing well. ------------------------...Continue reading

22.01.2022 CLINTON SENIORS RESULTS It was a close match in the 1 v 2 of the Ladies competition with the Clinton and Central Div. 1 teams forced to share the points for their 2-2 draw. Skye Alexander was again outstanding in the front line for Clinton scoring a double and taking out Player of the Match honours. Dominating a lot of possession, unfortunately the Clinton girls could not convert it to points which was frustrating but understandable with five regular players missing. ...Continue reading

13.01.2022 A MESSAGE FROM FOOTBALL QLD We’ve been very fortunate here in Queensland to be able to resume football activity in recent months across the state following a tough and uncertain period. I want to thank you all for your support and cooperation throughout this time. ... With football well and truly underway, I would like to reiterate the importance of ensuring all members of your club’s community are doing the right thing by our wider football family. Since our return to play, we have received an alarming increase in the number of what can only be described as concerning reports of bad behaviour both on and off the field from players, coaches and spectators around the state. I take this opportunity to ask you as Club President to please ensure you are reinforcing to everyone at your club that there is absolutely no room in our game for verbal abuse, physical violence, intimidation or discrimination of any kind, whether you are on or off the field. Each of us are obligated to take ownership of and manage behavioural norms within our own organisations. Can I also refer you to Football Federation Australia's Code of Conduct, which establishes a standard of performance, behaviour and professionalism for all participants and stakeholders. This document strictly prohibits members from bringing the game into disrepute through acts including, but not limited to, discriminatory behaviour, harassment, offensive behaviour, and intimidation of match officials, and also holds clubs responsible, and liable, for the conduct of and behaviour of its supporters, whether at home or away matches. It is also equally important that all members of our football community are continuing to follow the COVID Safe measures outlined in the Queensland Government’s COVID Safe Plan for Field Sports and Football Queensland’s Return to Play Guidelines. While we are privileged to be back out on the field, each of us also has a responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the wider Queensland community. We can only do this by reinforcing the importance of following the COVID Safe measures that are in place to protect all members of our football family. Below are some simple tips for encouraging COVID Safe behaviour at your club. Ensure QR code posters are displayed around your club to allow for simple signing in and out If your club is not using QR code posters, make sure you have an alternative method for visitors to sign in and out of your venue e.g. using FQ’s Record of Attendance Template Encourage social distancing by displaying COVID Safe posters, available to download on the FQ website Thank you in advance for your assistance in encouraging good behaviour at your club, to ensure positive experiences for all involved in our game. All the best for the remainder of the season. Robert Cavallucci Chief Executive Officer Football Queensland https://footballqueensland.com.au/return-to-football/

06.01.2022 CLINTON JUNIOR PRELIMINARY FINAL RESULTS The U13/14A Clinton Cannons started their Preliminary Final well after slower starts in their last couple of games. In the sixth minute after some good build up play down the right hand side Clinton won a corner which was finished off with a great header from Jack Pickup to put them 1-0 up. Good defence and great keeper work from Kaden Keirsnowski kept the Central attack at bay until the half time break. Coming out for the secon...d half feeling confident they could hold Central to nil the Cannons went about scrambling in defence stopping every raid that started. A couple of great shots from 25 yards out from Nic Brown made it 2 then 3-nil pretty much securing the game. Coach Wayne Stewart is very proud of this team who have been working so hard at training to get to this stage of the season and believes they can go one step further in this week’s Grand Final against BITS Barons. Special Mention to all the supporters who came down to watch them play especially the Clinton U16's team the support is much appreciated. -------------------------------------- The Clinton Crows season is unfortunately over with their 5-2 loss to the BITS Bush Turkeys in their U13/14B match. Crows goals came compliments of Byron Henney and Alex Hofstede. Special mention going to Maddy Lyons for her assistance with Byron’s goal. Well done to all the Crows players on a good year and qualifying for the second week of the finals series. -------------------------------------- U13/14A Clinton Cannons 3 - Central Ravens 0 Clinton Goal Scorers: Jack Pickup Nic Brown (2) Clinton Special Mentions: Kaden Keirsnowski, Jack Pickup and Nic Brown -------------------------------------- U13/14B Clinton Crows 2 - BITS Bush Turkeys 5 Clinton Goal Scorers: Byron Henney Alex Hofstede --------------------------------------
