20.01.2022 We are open for business!!! What crazy times these are... Firstly thank you to all our clients for their ongoing support through these ever changing and unsure times. We would love to say it is business as usual, but it is not quite. We have made some changes to reflect the recommendations of the Australian Government and the World Health Organisation. We have reduced the number of waiting chairs, so you can spread out :)... We have increased our appointment time, giving us a chance to clean and sanitise all surfaces and equipment between clients. Our hands are sparkling clean after that, but we are washing them again anyway. Unfortunately we have had to do away with our great magazines, fortunately if you are the first client in on the day they arrive you will score a free magazine We are doing everything within our power to keep ourselves and our clients safe. We do ask that (you know the drill by now) if you have any flu like symptoms, have travelled interstate or overseas in the last 14 days or have had contact with anyone diagnosed or suspected of having Covid-19 that you please do not come in to the salon (give us a call instead, we are happy to tell you one of our terrible jokes over the phone). We know that we are not the only business or individuals who are hurting right now and our hearts go out to you all, stay safe and keep smiling We will continue to follow the Australian Government guidelines and are taking each day as it comes, we will do our best to keep you informed if anything at Clipaway changes. 13.01.2022 When the Government announced an energy bill waiver for small business in Tassie as a part of the response to assist with costs of the COVID19 associated restri...ctions we warmly welcomed it, we supported the decision. But for many businesses, like Clipaway - Mens Hair and Grooming, who are in multi -tenanted buildings, they have been subsequently told they are not eligible. For two months the energy Minister Guy Barnett failed to respond to a request from businesses to reconsider this issue. When we asked him a question in parliament, he refused to answer. We were hopeful of a change when the Premier commited to review the issue but our hopes were dashed when Minister Barnett finally responded by saying that he wouldnt act to deal with this unfair exclusion. This is really disappointing, businesses have been forced to close, jobs are at risk. They cant hide behind the fine print, they should do what they committed to do and that is support small businesses in these circumstances.

13.01.2022 We are coming back!!! We have taken a breath, waited, watched, listened and finally resolved that for our sanity we will re-open our doors. Our Government have decided that the environment in which we work is safe and that we are needed , we agree and you cant be walking around with long hair any longer!... Consequently, Kushal the Brave, Connor the Fearless and Rachel the Bored will return to work on Monday 20th April. Ella the Daring is currently on holidays and will return on Monday the following week. We will continue to follow the guidelines and recommendations of the Australian Government and World Health Organisation. Extending our appointment times to allow us to clean and sanitise all surfaces and equipment between clients. We do have some masks and are happy to wear one while cutting your hair if you would like us to. I really think they make us even better looking. What you need to know We will continue to do everything in our power to keep ourselves and you safe If you are unwell, please do not come in to the salon, wait a few days get better and then we will be more than happy to look after you If you are in a high risk group think twice before you come in, do you really need a haircut? Dont think for one minute that we dont want to see you, we do, but we are also concerned for you We plan to operate our normal salon hours at this stage, however this Saturday is Anzac Day and we will be closed The Hobart City Council have decided to close the Melville Street carpark (that is a bother) however with the lack of city traffic there is plenty of parking on Bathurst Street We can hardly wait to see all your smiling faces, hear about your Easter adventures and tell you about all the TV shows we have watched (there are a lot of them). 10.01.2022 It is an understatement that we have had a tough couple of weeks at Clipaway. After much soul searching, many sleepless nights and trying to gain as much information as possible, I have made the call to give you all an opportunity to grow some extra hair. This decision has been no picnic (no blankets, no cake, not even any ants). The waiting, the wondering, the stress, the fluctuations in business, changing of Government policies, together with the risk to the health of our... wonderful clients and my staff has been all consuming. This pause in trade will give us a chance to regroup and get some rest, while we wait for our Government to clarify if it is safe and or advisable for us to resume operating. I put the health, both physical and mental of my employees above all else and need to create an environment where we are all happy and our clients are safe.
