25.01.2022 When it comes to home upgrades, we find there are 3 different motivations for customers: Design and aesthetics. 24.01.2022 A quick look back at the start of one of the most popular switch ranges in the country. It was back in 1987 when we designed the 2000 Series. Who remembers using them when they first hit the market? We included a decorative surround on the product that could be removed when painting, so when it’s placed back on, it then covers the edges to give a clean finish.... Then 10 years later in 1997, the C2000 series launched. This was a response to consumer demand to freshen up the aesthetics even more. Over 30 years later, we are proud to say we still make these in our Adelaide factory. These ranges continue to be a dominant force in the market now and will be for many years to come. #ClipsalSince1920

23.01.2022 We think a huge plus about the Pro Series is that these commercial switches and power points are designed to include circuit ID labels protected behind a clear window. No longer can circuit identification be damaged, wiped off, or made unreadable. The labels adhere to panels designed into the grids, so even if skins are inadvertently swapped during maintenance, the labels will always display the correct circuit identification. Plus there’s two windows on opposite edges, so ...it can be visible in any situation. See Pro Series up close: https://bit.ly/34ST0Mu

17.01.2022 Since 1920, Clipsal continues to stand by sparkies just like father and son duo Peter and Matthew of Mowbray Electrical. Their family business has been operating out of Loxton in the Riverland of SA for over 25 years. Peter said he has been a sparky since 1974 as he had an early fascination with electricity, and never wanted a different career path for himself outside of the electrical industry. Since Peter started as an electrician, his go-to has always been Clipsal and stil...l continues to be today. Matthew joined Mowbray Electrical in 2007, and they currently operate as a team of 5 sparkies. Matthew is planning with Peter to take over the business once Peter retires, but for now, they still enjoy being able to work alongside each other. They both love the variety of work within the region saying it certainly stops them from getting bored. Peter said he loves passing on his knowledge to the younger generations of sparkies he mentors. Peter and Matthew also enjoy the challenge of working things out for their customers. Thanks for the support Mowbray team! #SparkiesOfAus

16.01.2022 To celebrate 100 years of Clipsal, we wanted to hear more of your stories as sparkies. Linden Electric Pty Ltd is also celebrating a milestone we hear: 43 years in business! Linden Electric was founded by my father Warren Baker. He completed his apprenticeship with Stowe Electrical and decided to start his own business in 1977 under the foundation of quality, safety, and integrity the same ethos that is shared by the company today. I joined the company in December 2004 af...ter I finished high school. I wasnt quite sure what I wanted to do and my father suggested I complete a trade in what he considered the backbone of the Australian economy. I wont lie, I didnt like it at first. But gradually as I became more integral to the projects that were being completed, there was a certain sense of accomplishment and fulfilment. 15 years later Im still here and enjoying every minute. My father Warren retired 4 years ago with 58 years in the electrical industry. A true milestone and one of the first round of contractors in the Club Clipsal program. #SparkiesOfAus Warren and team in Kellyville, around 1977
15.01.2022 On average for a 3 bedroom home with 2 adults and 2 children, a $500+ quarterly energy bill would benefit with a few extra energy management solutions installed to improve the homeowner’s energy costs. Heating and cooling, pool/spa pumps and lighting are generally the biggest areas of energy usage in the average household. Energy management solutions (like timers, schedulers, dimmers and energy monitoring from the switchboard) would significantly reduce your customer’s ongoing bills, and give you the opportunity to add value while on the job. 11.01.2022 As we proudly celebrate our 100th year in 2020, our friends at Hiddlestone Electrics are also marking a century in business. Since 1920, the name Hiddlestone has been synonymous with Subiaco, WA. Their driving force and leader, the late Vern Hiddlestone, had enduring support for Clipsal. He went on to become one of the founding members of Club Clipsal Australia, and supported this by only specifying Clipsal products for all his electrical work. Now led by Verns daughter Nata...lie Hiddlestone, the family and company continue to make huge contributions to the electrical industry and community that Vern always loved and supported. Nats team continues to be a huge advocate for training and mentoring up-and-coming electricians. 11.01.2022 Meet Kory from Blackout Electrical Solutions, in Morningside QLD When I was on the tools, I most enjoyed the little successes you would achieve every day, the real small wins of each task, which would all add up to a successful day. The biggest challenge has been coming off the tools, and the transition from tradesman to business owner, and trying to make it all work.... In 2006 I moved to Australia and started using Clipsal for the first time as an employee, and haven't stopped since. Before 2006, I had never used a 413, everything was hardwired, then when I found these I thought Christmas had come early! Currently, enjoying the Clipsal Wiser mechs for lighting and scheduling appliances. Clipsal is quality and I trust the brand! #SparkiesOfAus @bes_pty_ltd

05.01.2022 One of the things we truly enjoy about the electrical industry is chatting to sparkies, and hearing their stories about how they got started. Third year apprentice sparky Lou from QLD shares her experience so far. Id worked in management and customer service for nearly 20 years and was looking for a new challenge. I wanted a qualification of sorts as I had never been to uni. I wanted to be active, and feel like I had actually achieved something while providing financial sta...bility for my family. Also doing something my 3 daughters could be proud of, and show them they can do anything they want in life. After research and speaking to a good friend of mine who was an electrician and mentor in my life, I decided on the electrical trade. It seemed women were becoming more prevalent, capable and respected in the industry, and I also liked that its an industry that is changing and evolving all the time, with plenty to learn going into the future. It was a massive gamble, but it has been the best decision, and Im loving it! I love being outdoors and my "office" is always different. My confidence was a lot different at the start of my apprenticeship. Like I said, I hadnt ever used tools let alone been on a massive construction site! My first day walking onto my first massive construction site of 146 units, not knowing anyone, what to expect, being a girl (which always gets stares) & not knowing what I was doing was probably the scariest, but thrilling thing I have ever experienced. Doing something new with a new tool or something that has no room for error is always a challenge - but a good one! #SparkiesOfAus @life_done_by_sparkylou

04.01.2022 Since 1920, Clipsal has stood by sparkies just like Karl from KNP Electrics, Perth. "I always loved hands on work and electrical always interested me. What I love most [about being a sparky] is the versatility, and evolving change in technology. In the electrical industry there is always something new to learn. I started using Clipsal the first day I started as an apprentice. The rep welcomed me to the industry with open arms, and over time the Clipsal team has always made ...me feel like part of the family. Their willingness to adapt and change has always impressed me. Having a product that you can comfortably stand by makes running an electrical company a breeze." Thanks for the support Karl! #SparkiesOfAus @knpelectrics
