25.01.2022 Maloo, a beautiful Siberian Husky with the most astonishing blue eyes. I painted her with Rembrandt pastels on Mi-Tientes paper. Please feel free to comment and share.

25.01.2022 For the first time in years I don't have a dog portrait on my easel, so if you are in the market for one get in touch while the turn-around time is short. In the meantime here's a little acrylic "Rough seas"

25.01.2022 An acrylic painting of a colourful breaking wave I did some time ago. It was originally meant to have a coke can floating at the base of the wave until I realised what a dreadful idea that was!

23.01.2022 Another beautiful Siberian Husky, this one is "Bandit". I love painting the eyes on dogs (you might have noticed) especially when they are so different. Pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

23.01.2022 A recently completed painting of "Angus", a handsome black Labrador from here in the hills. Pastel on Canson Mi Tientes paper. I forgot to take the photo before it was put behind glass (again) so there are a few reflections. Please feel free to comment and share

23.01.2022 Beautiful Pippa the Dobermann, just look at that smile! Pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share and comment.

22.01.2022 I painted this Husky a few years ago and can't remember it's name. I tried to capture the dramatic lighting and those amazing blue eyes. Pastel on paper. Please feel free to share.

20.01.2022 Here's something different. I've just found this old photo of a painting I did about 27 years ago! Taken with a film camera and a bit blurry. Chuck Berry in full flight!

19.01.2022 Many dogs do not like to look you in the eyes, finding it too confrontational. This confident little chap "Tiger" has no such problems. His eyes seem to look right into your soul. I consider it a wonderful gift that I am able to paint that look.

19.01.2022 Please say hello to Millie, a beautiful mare I had the pleasure of painting. Pastels on Canson paper. Please feel free to comment and share.

18.01.2022 This lovely dog is "Khaya". Although I have dozens of doggy colours in my box I couldn't get the colour right. I had to take the reference photo to the art shop to get the right colours! Pastel on Mi-Tientes paper.

17.01.2022 To portray the sheer size of the larger breeds of dog I'm lucky enough to paint, I like to fill the frame as much as possible. Smaller dogs can have a bit more space around them. Pastel on Ingres paper. Please feel free to share.

16.01.2022 A commissioned painting I finished in time for Christmas. Painted in pastel from a great photo, I loved the light on her face and her gentle expression. Mostly Rembrandt pastels on Canson Mi-Tientes paper.

16.01.2022 A recent Christmas commission was one of my most difficult of the year, a pure white Samoyed puppy! How could you not fall in love with this happy smiling face? Pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

16.01.2022 Some of my favourite dog paintings. It has been a privilege to be able to paint these wonderful animals. I hope you like them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Fv-yj3O_KE&t=29s

15.01.2022 A few of the beautiful German shepherd dogs I have been fortunate to have painted over the last few years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga6sdWgn82o

15.01.2022 Just finished this painting of a beautiful long coated Shepherd named "Piper", sadly no longer with us. Pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

14.01.2022 A recently completed commission, this is Chevy, a handsome German shepherd from here in Western Australia. Painted in pastel on Mi-Tientes paper. Please fell free to share and comment.

13.01.2022 I was asked the other day why I don't paint small dogs. The answer is, of course, that I do, just not as many. Anyway, here is one of my favourite small dog paintings. This is "Cuddles". I had to call on all my experience as an artist to capture the expression in his eyes. Pastel on Mi-Tientes paper.

12.01.2022 Rommel, a handsome sable German Shepherd with the most beautiful eyes, from a really good photographic reference taken by the owner. Pastel on Mi-tientes paper. please feel free to comment.

12.01.2022 This handsome, but very serious looking, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is "George". I painted him in pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

09.01.2022 This little girl is Ruby, beautiful bright eyes and a mass of curls for a coat. Isn't she pretty?

08.01.2022 Listening to a Scottish tune "Hector the hero" by the band Wolfstone reminded me of this handsome Dobermann who's name is also Hector, Pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

07.01.2022 A pretty cat with the most beautiful eyes I recently had the pleasure of painting. Pastel on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

06.01.2022 The Japanese Akita, a big, handsome, strong-willed dog. Not for the faint hearted. Pastel on Ingres paper. Please feel free to share.

05.01.2022 Just delivered today, this portrait of the handsome German Shepherd "Ruger" took quite a while to complete. I always like to do Shepherds with their mouths open like this, but not so fond of the tongue out of the side look. Pastel on grey Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

02.01.2022 I couldn't resist giving this pretty cat a mouse to play with! Pastels on Canson paper. Please feel free to share.

01.01.2022 I've just finished this portrait of this colourful dog "Buddy". Painted in Pastels on Canson Paper. Please feel free to comment and share.

01.01.2022 Here I am working hard in my studio. I still have a few spots available to paint a portrait for you (if you live in Australia) in time for Christmas. The cost is $250 including free framing and inscription, and, as a special offer until the end of the year, free postage anywhere in Australia. Don't forget, if it's too hard to get photos to me in time I also do Gift Vouchers for one portrait at the same price. Cheers, Clive.
