22.01.2022 McGowan exposes WA to massive additional burden following WA state election: Palmer Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan has exposed WA to massive additional financial burden while he continues to grandstand about saving the State from bankruptcy, Clive Palmer said in Brisbane today. Mark McGowan is busy bragging about how he has saved WA from going bankrupt,’’ Mr Palmer said.... Instead all he has done is delay the inevitable and it will add hundreds of millions of dollars in more damages and interest to our claims. Mr Palmer said the legislation would ultimately be a legal failure. Only days before this legislation, McGowan’s Government signed a mediation agreement with me and former Western Australian Chief Justice, Wayne Martin QC,’’ Mr Palmer said. Negotiations were scheduled to commence shortly and there was every prospect that the dispute could be settled for a fair and reasonable amount. Instead, the McGowan Government has now exposed the State of WA to additional financial burden. When the election has come and gone, he will face the music of our claim,’’ Mr Palmer said. He should have followed Winston Churchill’s words that meeting jaw to jaw was better than war. He wants war instead of peace,’’ Mr Palmer said. ENDS

19.01.2022 Don’t let Labor take more from the people and distribute to the government. An important message for you and your family. Authorised by C.Palmer, Mineralogy, 240 Queen St Brisbane.

17.01.2022 Mineralogy to lodge amended donations disclosure Mineralogy Pty Ltd will lodge an amended donations disclosure for $75,000 which was missed due to a staff oversite, Clive Palmer said today. The money was donated to The National Party between July 2019 to June 2020.... Mr Palmer spent more than $60 million on advertising for his own party at the 2019 election, much of it critical of Bill Shorten and the Labor Party. As a result of the administrative staff oversite we will lodge an amended donation disclosure which is compliant with the legislation,’’ Mr Palmer said. Shifty Shorten will confirm this and our distain towards his poor policies at the last election. Labor is like a leopard, it can’t change its spots,’’ Mr Palmer said. q ENDS

14.01.2022 Emergency action needed for emergency situation: Clive Palmer Clive Palmer said it was a matter of urgency for Adelaide to be equipped with extracorporeal life support machines to bring it in line with other Australian capital cities. Adelaide children are equally important as all Australian children, every other capital city has these machines,’’ Mr Palmer said.... Mr Palmer has offered to buy five of the life support machines for Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital after a cluster of baby deaths due to a lack of access to cardiac facilities, a move rejected by SA Premier Steven Marshall. It’s a medical emergency I think we need emergency action,’’ Mr Palmer said. Politicians are too reliant on the advice of professionals and need to make decisions that are in the best interest of the people they represent. In this case, professionals in other states have already advised on the use of these machines, where they are currently operational and saving lives,’’ Mr Palmer said. A start needs to be made to end needless deaths, family anguish and suffering,’’ he said.

14.01.2022 Palmer video highlights truth behind Labor’s death tax risk The Chairman of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, last night released a video highlighting the truth behind Labor’s death tax risk. I’m very concerned about the death tax Labor is proposing and we all know that death duties are a policy of the Greens.... At the next election we will decide the government of Queensland and it is highly likely that if the Labor Party gets a chance of winning, they will be in coalition with the Greens. In the video, Mr Palmer reminds Queenslanders that for many years Wayne Swan wanted to redistribute wealth in Australia by taking from the people and giving it to government. You can’t afford to give Labor your children’s inheritance, it’s as simple as that,’’ Mr Palmer said. People may want to make fun of me or have a go at me personally, that’s not the issue. The issue is to make sure that the hard work Queenslanders have done over many years doesn’t go to the Labor Party, it goes to them and their children. Mr Palmer said the Queensland Labor Government would justify the new tax to combat its $120 billion debt blowout. The only way Labor can reduce its debt is by taking from Queensland families. They are out of ideas and have no policies that can deliver growth and a strong economic future for this State,’’ Mr Palmer said. Under a returned Labor Government, we will see family assets taken by the state. Our children and grandchildren will have assets chiselled out from them after the hard efforts and endeavours of those before them,’’ Mr Palmer said. We simply can’t risk a Labor death tax of 20% on all the assets we hold,’’ Mr Palmer said. View the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6D2qBod0_g

14.01.2022 In the seat of #Pumicestone today talking about the need to stop Labor, their taxes and their destruction of the Queensland Economy.

11.01.2022 Anna Palmer calls for immediate resignation of ASIC chairman Former PwC tax senior manager and deputy leader of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Anna Palmer, today said that it was beyond belief that the chairman of ASIC, James Shipton, had used taxpayer funds to help him avoid Australian taxation. This is a serious matter and needs to be investigated by the Australian Federal Police and not by public servants, Mrs Palmer said.... All Australians know that it was ASIC that failed to carry out its function as corporate regulator, allowing the banks to destroy the lives of so many Australian families, leading to the banking Royal Commission. Bankers lost their jobs, not the people who were supposed to regulate them,’’ she said. James Shipton has his snout in the trough, having a feeding frenzy at the tax payers’ expense. Mrs Palmer said $118,000 in tax payer funds have been spent on personal tax advice for Mr Shipton and a further $78,000 of tax payer money paid towards his fringe benefits tax. It is understood the tax advice from KPMG was around how to deal with Mr Shipton’s personal investments and optimisation of tax benefits. My husband pays more than $50 million in tax per year, these funds should go towards new schools and hospitals not consultants of KPMG to help a senior bureaucrat minimise his taxation requirements and for assistance in reducing US tax notices and penalties,’’ she said. This matter needs to be referred to the Australian Federal police. Any investigation handled by public servants will always have the appearance of favours being given by the Government. Also, a parliamentary enquiry needs to be conducted. How can everyday Australians trust the chief corporate watchdog when the chairman uses tax payer funds to pay KPMG to help him avoid tax? Australians work hard for their money, much of it goes to the federal government from their taxes and then we see the chairman of ASIC use these very funds to seek advice on how to minimise his tax some might say to avoid tax. This is greed at the top and James Shipton needs to resign immediately as the chairman has lost all credibility and confidence of Australians the business community,’’ Mrs Palmer said. ENDS

01.01.2022 Shipton’s $850,000 ‘gardening leave’ disgrace Leading Australian businessman Clive Palmer says it is a disgrace that ASIC chairman James Shipton who has stood down on a lavish publicly funded salary whilst being investigated for ripping off Australians to pay for personal tax advice. This is a disgrace. Does he ever stop taking taxpayers for a ride?’’ Mr Palmer said.... It was beyond belief that James Shipton dipped into the public purse to help him avoid Australian taxation, yet he has taken it to a whole new level accepting his $855,364 annual salary as gardening leave while the matter is being investigated. All Australians know that it was ASIC that failed to carry out its function as corporate regulator, allowing the banks to destroy the lives of so many Australian families, leading to the banking Royal Commission. Bankers lost their jobs, not the people who were supposed to regulate them,’’ Mr Palmer said. James Shipton continues to have his snout in the trough, having a feeding frenzy at the tax payers’ expense. Mr Palmer said $118,000 in taxpayer funds have been spent on personal tax advice for Mr Shipton and a further $78,000 of taxpayer money paid towards his fringe benefits tax. He knew this would become public three years ago but has tried to cover it up. This is a serious matter and needs to be investigated by the Australian Federal Police and not by public servants. There should be a Royal Commission into ASIC,’’ he said. James Shipton is being paid almost 20 times the average Australian wage to do nothing. The CEO of Australia Post was sacked over six Cartier watches, how many watches would it take for Shipton to be sacked? His pay should be sacked immediately. How can James Shipton be taken seriously in his role as chairman. He is supposed to regulate corporations but has no standards of his own,’’ Mr Palmer said. ENDS
