17.01.2022 The weather was perfect for the inaugural Clontarf Conservation Crew event yesterday afternoon. 25 students, accompanied by 5 staff as well as Reed, Micheline and Sam from the City of South Perth cleaned an adjacent area to the College that will serve as the perfect Bush Tucker garden. All were determined to clear the suffocated area of weeds and overgrown vegetation and plants. The Year 7, 8 and 9 students in the Conservation Crew were full of determination and zest as they could slowly see all their efforts come to fruition. The area looks fresh and ready for the next phase, which involves mulching and planting. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm the group had, investing their time and energy into a future learning area. Congratulations to the wonderful efforts and.....we're only getting started!
15.01.2022 A lovely Advent Liturgy in our beautiful Chapel this morning. An opportunity for students and staff to give thanks for the year of many learning opportunities and to reflect on all the positives of 2020. Advent, the time of preparation before Christmas, is a season of hope and waiting and the Advent Wreath is one of the important symbols for the season. Each week of Advent a candle from the wreath is lit, with the first being the purple candle of Hope, this was lit today by ATA, Jaymea. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, and so there was a very special, delicious, birthday cake, to celebrate Jesus' birthday, enjoyed for morning tea by students, staff and visitors!
11.01.2022 Our College has had the special opportunity to hold an art exhibition and display some of our students creative and beautiful art work at the Waterford Plaza, as part of their NAIDOC week celebration. The exhibition is also a competition, where the public gets to view and vote on the art piece that they like the most, and put their vote in a voting box. At the end of the exhibition, the art work with the most votes wins a great prize, provided by the Plaza. This art piece, a...lso then becomes the art work for a large mural at the Plaza, which will be painted by a local artist, in collaboration with student. There are 24 art pieces, all designed and created by the students of our college, from all year levels. The exhibition started on the 8th Nov, and will finish on Sunday 22nd Nov, so make sure to get down to the Waterford Shopping Plaza to enjoy viewing the art work, and to put in your vote.

07.01.2022 The Year 7/8.2 Classroom Teachers are monitoring the students' performance across four criteria each day, inspired by the College Values of Pride (uniform), Respect (behaviour), Responsibility (attendance and punctuality) and Community (classroom contributions). The role model student who has excelled in all areas consistently throughout the week, will earn the title of Year 7/8.2 Student of the Week. The winning student will receive a Seqta commendation, a certificate awarded at assembly, a reward or prize and of course, a shout out on Facebook. Congratulations to our week six winner, Brenda. Brenda has received the title five times in the last six weeks! We are so proud of her work ethic, it's a pleasure having her in our classroom. Amazing effort Brenda!
05.01.2022 The Year 7 and 8 female students attended a Discovery Day at the The University of Western Australia today. They participated in a range of hands-on activities in Zoology, Sports Science and Engineers Without Borders. Our students also met current Indigenous university students and staff from The School of Indigenous Studies, named Bilya Marlee (river of the swan). The students discovered there are so many cool things to study at university and so much assistance available if they wish to pursue further study once they complete their secondary education.
