To truly know you have found the one that loves you for who you are, all your beauty and all your flaws. They don't want to change you, but they do what the best for you, they help you to be the best version of yourself and the...y pull you up when it's needed. They don't agree with everything you say but they always have your back. Your nick names for each-other, the special languages you make up, the way you love each-other; it's your story and it's beautiful. As COVID-19 has halted many plans it has also allowed our couples to consider what it is they really want for their wedding day; what matters to them most. Your wedding day should not be a competition of out-doing, out-spending, out-styling... there really is no point. What matters is that those who matter most are there and if they are fun people, it will be a fun wedding! The key ingredients are your nearest and dearest, delicious and plentiful food, quality drinks; served by staff that want to look after you; truly you cannot underestimate the impact that the staff/ vendors you choose to work with have on the overall impact of your wedding day. The place needs to feel welcoming and well styled so that everything flows. I.e one beautiful styled furniture corner that seats 8 people and a few bar stools and cocktail tables won't cut it in terms of comfort factor if you have 50 guests. Success come from a considered and tailored approach; not a one package fits all. 16.01.2022 COCKTAILS - what's your pick as we head into the long weekend.? With bars and restaurants now allowed to accommodate up to 50 people where will you be going? and what cocktail would you order? Last weekend I went out to actually catch up (in-person) with my brother, his wife and their fur baby Waffle! We actually sat somewhere; yes, we had pre-paid, signed our names on entry, sanitised our hands and had an allocated table, however, once through all of that the overa...ll vibe was one of gratitude to be out socialising again and of gratitude of the bar tender to be working and welcoming patrons. We went to Willie The Boatman in St Peters. It's a local craft brewery in the inner West of Sydney, very funky and positioned amongst creative businesses in a little hub of lane-ways and shop fronts. (Dogs allowed; how cool is that!) There is a different food truck out the front each week (you need to order food to be able to drink there). Great vibe and an impressive bar. If you are not a beer fan they also have cider and wine options. So this weekend I suggest exploring Sydney, explore where you live, the places around you; support local and get to know the people behind the business. Their stories can be fascinating and inspiring. I believe when you venture out you are opening yourself up to possibility, inspiration and opportunity. I must say, over the past couple of months I have been thinking about getting a caravan and travelling around Australia (a travelling wedding planner (some time off) and I have some exciting ideas that I am still mixing up for online) p.s; the night ended with a game of Exploding Kittens This EPIC bar was styled by George and Smee and the queen of cocktails produced the goods; Sheena from FireFli Bars. Unfortunately now isn't the best time to be looking for work in the wedding and events industry... COVID-19 has put a hold on what we have been doing with such joy and freedom for the last 10 years. We have still been receiving emails though... and We thought we could help those interested to improve their chances of a reply by putting their 'best foot forward' in what is a very competitive industry. We thought we should write a letter, essentially it's for anyone wanting to contact us about work opportunities. There are a number of things that are important to consider and include in your email/cover letter and CV/resume. 10.01.2022 Covid has changed a lot of things and impacted my beloved industry greatly. But a styled shoot is a chance to be creative, showcase new ideas and get together a team of Uber talented people to help bring my vision to life. I like things to be beautiful, well thought out, with purpose and it has to be fun.
