22.01.2022 We often get asked, What’s behind the name Cloud Three? and we actually love sharing this story. Cloud Three started with two companies, one was a tech firm and the other a web firm. The web firm decided to work with the tech firm to help them make more technical and eye-catching websites. We actually got along so well that we became close friends and decided that this wasn’t something we wanted to do only occasionally. So we joined forces and now our team are able to... provide websites that are uniquely designed and include all the functionality that you could ever imagine. The work we do is to do with the internet which is often referred to as the ‘cloud.’ So with a team of 3 people working with cloud technologies, it was only fitting that we went by the name Cloud Three. So there you have it, the story of how Cloud Three was born. What about you, do you have a fun ‘behind the name’ story? Please share, we’d love to hear it #cloudthree #webdesign #townsville

19.01.2022 We strongly believe all good things really do come in threes - including the skillsets, attitudes and values of the individuals that work behind this brand and make a perfectly balanced team here at Cloud Three. What makes us a great team is that we’re all super collaborative. Everyone has worked on all factors of the business so we have a deep understanding of each other’s roles. This helps us appreciate what each one of us is good at and gives us the confidence that togeth...er we can take on any project or challenge that comes our way. Luke is our Lead Developer and is a super genius when it comes to using cutting edge technology I (James) am the Project Manager & Lead Designer, I love talking to people and interpreting their ideas. I’m passionate about making your concepts come to life. And Katrina is our Senior Design Consultant - she has amazing attention to detail and a good eye for putting the finishing touches to all of our projects. We think #teamwork makes the #dreamwork. We’d love to hear about the amazing team of people you have in your life. Tag them and spread the love #cloudthree #thesearemypeople #love #workfamily #teamwork

18.01.2022 We love seeing our client’s projects come to life after hard work behind the scenes. Great collaboration with our clients is key to making this happen. It takes a lot of effort from both sides, from us (the designers) and our clients to help build a website that is eye-catching, user-friendly, engaging and helps our client’s reach their goals - all while staying on track and within budget. That’s one of the reasons we keep consistent and open communication with our clients and invite them in as part of the team. We have the experience and wisdom to know that we are not experts in their business - they are. Good web design is collaborative and helps us give our clients the best possible outcomes that are unique to their business. #cloudthree #collaboration #teamwork #townsvilleshines

17.01.2022 Taking something that you enjoy doing and making a career out of it can be terrifying. Knowing you can do a job is very different from knowing you can run a business and make money out of it. Our office is full of entrepeneurs, we're constantly creating new software, new apps, and coming up with new business ideas. Not all of them work but that's okay! I'd rather fail a hundred times than constantly wonder what if. . . . .... #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #townsvillesmallbusiness #townsvillesmallbusiness #shoplocal #shopsmallbusiness #cloudthree #townsvilleshines #townsvillelife See more

17.01.2022 Leave a if you agree We especially love this quote because so much of the software and websites that we have built were born from a problem that our clients didn’t think could be solved. It’s our job and passion to try to solve problems and figure out how to make things work, and most of the time we do!

16.01.2022 Here’s a flashback to one of our favourite projects. We developed a website for the Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks We wanted to create an eye catching design which also captured the same energy, determination and love that the teammates and fans have for their sport. We had a lot of fun in the collaboration process of building this site and we’re proud of the final result which we think accomplished all that and more. ... #cloudthree #websitedesign #websitedesigners

14.01.2022 There are some golden rules to remember when managing your website in order to get more from google and increase the number of visitors to your site. Here’s how: Update your website regularly do not fall into the trap of thinking that websites are a once off investment that you can set and forget. You need to update monthly to prevent it from falling in search engine rankings and to ensure it stays responsive. Regular updates will also protect your business from cy...ber threats and reduce your risk of getting hacked Write regular blogs and keep your website content updated. Make sure your services are up to date and you are always writing about your recent projects and the work you’re doing. Tell your website everything that people will need to know about your business so they know who you are, what you do and where to find you CACHING! Install a caching plugin or integrate with a caching platform. It’s cheap and easy to do and speeds up your website which google loves Stop using Meta Tags - they are dead. Instead use Meta descriptions as a call-to-action for search snippets Use high quality imagery on your website and do not ‘borrow’ images from google. There are plenty of free/paid stock image websites that you can use or even better, use a local photographer or try to take some high-quality photos yourself. Quality images will help attract more visitors to your site because it increases your site's SEO value and decreases your bounce rate. We hope these tips were helpful to you, contact us anytime if you have any questions, we’d be happy to help #cloudthree #websitedesign #websitedesigner

11.01.2022 It's been a long time coming, we've been working on a project of our own for a little while now and we have finally launched it! Intervald is a simple cost effective method for tracking you and your company's time . Find out more at https://intervald.com . Why did we build it? Like all the best ideas it's because we saw a need. So much time tracking software was either expensive or super complicated. Intervald isn't, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (not yet a...nyway), but it does what it says its going to do. It's easy to record projects both for you and your team and manage how long you spent on those projects. Thats it! Go Check it out! . . . #townsville #smallbusiness #developer #webdeveloper #webdesign #townsvillesmallbusiness #townsvillebusiness #time #launch #laravel #timetrackingsoftware #timetrackingapp #timetracking #timetrackingtool See more

07.01.2022 Did you know the success of any website is largely dependent on its design? A well-designed website doesn’t necessarily mean what it looks like but also how it feels to use and how it works. So how do you know if your website is performing effectively? Well checking your analytics would be a great place to start but there are also some key principles to look out for. Simplicity is Key We all love a visually appealing design but too many design elements on your website... can actually slow down its load time and end up distracting your visitors from finding the information they need. Stick with a clean design, this not only makes your site more visually appealing but also helps with its usability and navigation. Typography & Readability There is no doubt about it, typography has a huge impact on the performance of your website, including its readability, mood, user experience and perceived article length. It’s important to use fonts that are easy to read, keep your content concise and use proper combinations of typefaces for headlines, body text and buttons. Compatibility We can’t stress enough - the importance of having a website that is mobile compatible. Over 50% of all website traffic worldwide is generated through mobile phones. So if your website isn’t mobile friendly you’ve instantly lost half of your potential reach. Colour palette and imagery Having high quality imagery and a perfect colour combination will attract users to your site like honey to a bee . If your website has a clear design and pleasing atmosphere, it will leave a good impact on your visitors and keep them coming back for more. Load Time Did you know that 53% of mobile website visitors will leave a site if it doesn’t load within 3 seconds? Your site’s load time needs to be fast. There are several quick and inexpensive ways to speed up a site’s load time and we’d be happy to show you how. If you’re after a website developer or need help with updating your current website, please get in touch. #cloudthree #websitedesign #townsvillelocalbusiness

04.01.2022 Happy hump day! We wanted to share a bit about how we like to get motivated mid-week. We all love Apple Music around here, we have apple watches, home pods, and Apple TV’s so needed a unified experience. When we really need to focus and get some hard work done, we like to crank out the album Rainbow Valley by #MattCorby It got us thinking, what music gets you motivated to kick some mid-week goals? credit: Qkuloe487 [CC BY-SA 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0)]

02.01.2022 Today is National Police Remembrance Day, a day to honour those who have lost their lives protecting our community. We stand in solidarity as members of the community with @qldpolice and our other policing organisations to pause and remember. Thank you for your service.

01.01.2022 When we develop websites we always try to make sure that we shape the design of the site around the content and not the other way around, but why do we do this? Content is the way we convey information to the user, and whilst design can reinforce this information or make it easier to understand, it’s not what defines a website. There are also a few other notable reasons why content is important such as the advent of voice controlled apps and technology or the use of text-t...o-speech technology to aid those with disabilities. In order to build a contextually relevant and eye catching design, you first need to understand what exactly it is you’re trying to accomplish and how that relates to the websites overall theme. We recommend to first research and draft up some content to help you better understand your target audience and what your potential customers will be looking for.
