Please note - increased social distancing requirements mean you will not be able to bring a 'guest' with you to your visit for the moment. It's going to be a busy start to the week as we get back on track, but hoping all will go smoothly. See you soon!

24.01.2022 This is a very valuable infographic highlighting just how problematic it can be relying on imaging studies to make a diagnosis. A combination of a good history, & thorough examination should lead to a narrow list of possibilities, and often, the actual response to treatment itself, can be the final confirmation.

24.01.2022 Great News! From November 16th, I'll be consulting at Adelaide Plains Vet Surgery at Two Wells. Dr. John Katakasi and I have been working together on a number ...of (dog) patients over the past year, and decided to build on the collaboration. At this stage, I'll be there monthly on Friday afternoons, with a view to expanding hours in due course. For appointments at the Two Wells location, please phone the Vet Surgery direct on 8520 3600, otherwise call the Clovelly Park practice for appointments there on 8277 6866.

23.01.2022 Coronavirus(COVID-19) Update Just wanted to advise that whilst we are still open usual hours, we are closely monitoring advice/directions from health authorities to ensure the safety of all concerned as part of the effort to slow the spread of this virus. Accordingly, we have increased the rigour of our infection control procedures, and request that patients; 1. Who have recently returned from overseas (within 2 weeks) 2. Who have been in close contact with an infected indivi...dual 3. Who have symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat or short of breath 4. Who are high risk (elderly, immunosuppressed, respiratory disorders, chronic medical conditions) ...NOT attend the practice until they are cleared by their GP. **Please ensure that your information sources are credible.** The following website of the Department of Health is a good place to start for updates and further details about the current status of this situation: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts Fingers crossed this will all pass quickly, and we'll see toilet paper on our supermarket shelves again soon!!!

23.01.2022 Christmas Holiday Break Just advising that we finish up at lunch time on Friday 21st, and reopen on Monday 7th January. 23.01.2022 New website up and running! https://www.animalchiro.net/

22.01.2022 Ok, so SA Health has softened the stipulation for 'single use surgical masks' when visiting a healthcare practitioner. Reusable face masks are now ok to use when visiting us now.

22.01.2022 Definitely a noticeable trend in patients of late. Laptops at the kitchen table are no match for a good workstation!

22.01.2022 Hi folks, we're currently updating our website to a fresh new look, and will be down for up to 36hrs whilst some back-end changes take place. Apologies for the inconvenience. In the mean time, you're more than welcome to message us here through Facebook.

21.01.2022 Just advising everyone that we're taking an extra day off this long weekend to have some extra time with the kids before they go back to school. We're closed on Thursday 25th, and reopening on Monday 29th Jan. If you need to contact us urgently, call the practice (8277 6866) and you'll be diverted to our mobile. We'll get back to you as soon as we can. Our you can message is directly here. Have a great long weekend and stay cool

20.01.2022 Hi folks. Regarding the lockdown, yes we will be closed tomorrow (Thurs) and reopen on Thursday 26th. At this stage we ask that you phone to rebook on Wed 25th next week when hopefully we'll know more about when we can open. We'll likely look at opening some extra shifts in the coming weeks to cater for changes in scheduling requirements. In the mean time, happy to take direct messages through FB, and please stay safe. Regards, Chris, Trudy & Sharyn.

20.01.2022 Update - whilst it's not exactly 'business as usual', we are staying open to continue looking after our clients. We are closely monitoring Health authorities and keeping up to date. To tighten control measures further, we ask that you please don't bring someone in with you if they don't have an appointment. We are thinning our bookings out to minimise traffic in the premises, and have separated seating in the reception area. We're also removing non-essential items from the ...reception area (books/magazines/display products/toys). Obviously, please don't come in if you have signs of fever/cough/sore throat/short of breath, or have recently travelled from oversease, or interstate - call us if this is the case. Those high at risk should not attend - which includes if you are older, have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disorders, immune system compromise or of Aboriginal/Torres Straight Is. origin. Remember, the name of the game is 'stop the spread'. If we all act accordingly, remember to smile and laugh, and remind ourselves "this WILL pass", we'll come out wiser for the experience. See more

16.01.2022 ***Update- All sorted!**** Phones are down at the moment. Hopefully back on soon, else PM us if you need to get in touch urgently.

15.01.2022 Update: Yes! We're still open. We're adhering to strict infection controls for everyone's peace of mind. This has included thinning our booking schedule so there's no more than 1 or 2 clients on the premises, so you won't need to be concerned about a crowded reception area. We've opened an extra shift next week (Wed afternoon) to manage the extra pre-holiday bookings. We hope you're all staying safe out there. Challenging times, but we'll get through it together. If you need any help or support, don't be too shy to ask for it - you'll be surprised how willing people will be to help.

14.01.2022 A variation of a four-legged patient today!

14.01.2022 Hello everyone! Just a reminder that we're away until Thursday afternoon this week (13th) as Dr. Chris and Trudy are with the family in Melbourne watching their daughters playing their interschool volleyball competition. We're back on deck from 4pm on Thursday 13th (actually, we'll hit the deck, running!) Don't hesitate to leave a message (preferably) by phone, or you can PM us through this page, and we'll get back to you as soon as we're back. There's not a lot of slots left before we break for Christmas, so get in touch soon to secure a time, if you haven't already.

13.01.2022 Well, that was quick! Once we get a little further clarification we'll be in touch ASAP and look to resuming consults as soon as practicable (possibly Monday morning). Either way, we'll let you know shortly.

13.01.2022 In case you didn't know..."Association Between Soft Drink Consumption and Mortality in 10 European Countries" (JAMA Internal Medicine 2019 - open access) Conclu...sions: "This study found that consumption of total, sugar-sweetened, and artificially sweetened soft drinks was positively associated with all-cause deaths in this large European cohort; the results are supportive of public health campaigns aimed at limiting the consumption of soft drinks." 13.01.2022 Easter Update! Hello everyone! We hope you are all keeping well (and sane) with everything going on. Chris is glad to report he is doing just fine(as is the rest of the family), with no evidence of infection of any sorts (though definitely evidence of needing a visit to the barber!!). Please do remember that the changes in routine we are going through, can take our bodies some time to adjust to. We'll be back on deck on Monday April 20th, and will continue with our infection controls in place. In the mean time, if you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Stay safe and do enjoy your Easter break.

13.01.2022 A great way at looking at stress.....

12.01.2022 This is a very important read for those 'diet' drinkers out there. With a sample study of 60,000 women it makes for a compelling case. This study has made statistical corrections that remove the effect of associated factors (like other dietary habits, no exercise, etc) on the outcome, which makes aspartame guilty by more than just 'association'. Soft drinks make no useful contribution to your body's day to day requirements. ... Worth remembering. See more

12.01.2022 Just advising we are currently on holidays until Tuesday 8th October. We've just become aware our usual phone diversion is not functioning as it should. If you need to get in touch before Tuesday, just leave a PM through here for now. Hope you're enjoying this awesome weather!

11.01.2022 Well, after an unplanned early start to Easter for us, (Yes, we're all fine!), we've hit the deck, running! At the moment, we only have a handful of available appointments over the next 2 1/2 weeks or so, despite having extended some of our shifts to cope. We are continuing with the necessary infection control measures to keep everyone as safe as possible. For those who are working from home, it may be worth noting that Dr. Chris also has the necessary WHS qualifications to... do hazard identification/risk assessments of your workspace at home (yes, your home office does technically come under your employer's WHS responsibilities), get them to contact Dr. Chris so one can be arranged. We're already seeing issues with people who are now working from home and need some guidance to improve their home work environment. In the mean time, stay well, and safe. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. See more

11.01.2022 Update: All good again now. Just advising that our internet and phone have just gone down. Hopefully they'll be up again shortly. Anything urgent, you can message us through here via messenger.

10.01.2022 Brilliant article! Take home message; 1. Fats aren't the problem, chronic inflammation is. 2. More nuts and olive oil. 3. Regular brisk exercise (walking or greater).

10.01.2022 Just advising that unfortunately we are fully booked until we break for Xmas on the 19th Dec, but are taking appointments from the 18th January.Just advising that unfortunately we are fully booked until we break for Xmas on the 19th Dec, but are taking appointments from the 18th January.

10.01.2022 School Holiday Closure Just advising that we will be closed from Sat April 13 to Sunday April 28 (inclusive) for the school holidays. Reopening again on Monday 29th. Have an awesome and safe Easter break, and don't forget the Dawn Service on Anzac Day!

09.01.2022 Just a heads-up that we're having a short break for the first week of the school holidays to recharge our batteries and will be back on deck on Tuesday 6th October from 9:30am. Look forward to seeing you all then and in the mean time, stay well.

08.01.2022 Working from home? A number of issues are starting to develop for those working from home. The main concern to be aware of is that some home offices will not be set up as well as most work offices, in terms of ergonomics. If you're used to good quality chairs, sit-stand desks, larger elevated monitors, and instead have to revert to the kitchen table, a laptop and a non-adjustable chair with less-than-ideal lighting, there's going to be problems arising. Adressing 'ergonomics'... needs a personal approach. Short of spending $$$ on a better home office, there may be better ways to set your workstation up, and manage your physical wellfare. To facilitate this, we're working on ways to work with our work-from-home clients to improve their situation. Video conferencing and prescribed(online) exercise programs are resources we have available that we are looking to put together. More on this soon. And yes, the practice continues to be open, with necessary modifications to mee the current situation. Stay well everyone!

08.01.2022 This is a great eye-opener about the effects of wifi radiation. Please take note!

08.01.2022 Just a reminder: Next date at Adelaide Plains Vet is Mon 12th Oct. Only a few spots left at this stage. In the mean time, had the chance to check over these lovely little guys on the weekend - cuteness overload!

07.01.2022 Our new web site is up and running now, so feel free to go check it out. If you've got any suggestions please don't be shy - particularly if there's certain content or features you're after. Same web address as before: www.clovellyparkchiro.com

06.01.2022 Just a reminder we reopen on Monday Jan 6th. In the mean time have a great New Year's! Looking forward to seeing you all in 2020!Just a reminder we reopen on Monday Jan 6th. In the mean time have a great New Year's! Looking forward to seeing you all in 2020!

06.01.2022 **Holiday Dates** We'll be closed from Sunday Sep 29th and reopen on Tuesday Oct 8th There's 2 full weeks left until the break - with only a handful of appointments remaining, so get in quick if you want to catch Dr. Chris before the school holidays start!

06.01.2022 Well, it looks like we've had to break for Easter a little earlier than planned. I was advised by the Health Department on Saturday that a patient had attended the practice earlier in the week, who (unbeknown to them) turned out to be in the early stages of contracting COVID-19 at the time they visited. Firstly - there's no need to be alarmed, particularly if you came in the later part of the week. It's not clear if the patient was even infectious at the time they came in, a...nd due to the incubation period of the virus, *if* I had taken on the virus, I wouldn't be infectious until at least Monday(today). The isolation only applies to myself. Secondly - I spoke with a respiratory scientist (who in turn spoke with his boss, a respiratory specialist) who confirmed that the isolation will be for the benefit of patients that I would have been seeing this week. If I had come down with the infection myself, I wouldn't be 'shedding virus particles' till early this week. Hence, to keep everyone safe, I'm doing it tough and getting used to room service! And yes, I feel fine, and been on the trainer doing workouts as usual. In the mean time, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch - PM is best. I'm more than happy to set up a web meeting with you also(skype, zoom, facetime etc). Apologies for the long post - but wanted to be clear on just whats been happening. I'm planning to be back on deck on the 20th April as planned. In the mean time, keep safe and well, and I'll be in touch very soon. Cheers Chris

05.01.2022 Something so simple, yet such a high predictor of our mortality.

05.01.2022 COVID Update: From Thursday Dec 3rd, all patients are required to wear a "surgical grade" face mask when attending. Cotton face masks are not permitted. Surgical face masks will be available at reception for $1 if you don't have one on hand.

05.01.2022 Just reminding everyone we will be back on deck on Monday, Sept 11th. Messages can be left on 8277 6866, otherwise, if you need help before Dr. Chris is back, his colleague, Dr. Geoff McCann (ChiroActive, Winston Ave, Melrose Park, 08 8374 4033), is handling Dr. Chris' "overflow" whilst away. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon, all refreshed and energized after our family holiday!

03.01.2022 This is a useful read for those using wrist-based heart rate monitors during exercise. The bottom line? Use a chest strap monitor instead!

03.01.2022 Christmas hours : Closed Friday December 22nd Reopening: Thursday Jan 4th After hours details to be posted shortly.... From all of us here, wishing you a healthy and safe Christmas and New Year's.
