08.01.2022 What a week! We have only just hit the ground after an outstanding ram sale on Tuesday, which far exceeded our every expectation. Our sincere thanks to the more than 100 stud and commercial buyers from NSW, Vic, SA and Tas (or their representatives) who registered for the sale and showed such confidence in Cloven Hills genetics and the future of our industry. Summary of sale, we had an additional 32% more rams on offer, our top-price for the day exceeded last year's by mor...e than 70 per cent and our average for the day increased by more than 20 per cent - results we are extremely grateful for and proud of. We could not be more pleased with the outcome of the sale and extend thanks to our agent, Rick Smith, along with Greg Bright and the teams at Nutrien Ag Solutions Casterton, Auctions Plus and Cloven Hills, for helping us bring the sale together. It was a sterling effort from Josh McDonald, who auctioneered for nearly 4 hours! We are excited to announce we will be holding Summer Sales in February 2021 at Cloven Hills & Wesley Dale Tasmania, with 2020 drop ram lambs on offer. We see this as a great opportunity to plan ahead and access the next generation of Cloven Hills genetics. More details to follow shortly. Lot 28, CH19-1505, is the country’s highest indexing maternal ram offered at auction. His MCP+ 180 is underpinned by BWT 0.4, PWWT 16.9, AWT 12.2 and YNLW 38%; with a dress score of 3.1. These desirable traits for prime lamb production (fertility, hardiness, growth and carcase with moderate adult weight) are the fruition of our breeding objectives.
