23.01.2022 Dental health week 3-9 August 2020. Throughout this week, our Educators have been discussing dental hygiene with the children, explaining the importance of a healthy diet and proper dental care. 20.01.2022 Have a little peek at what we got up to over Science week (17.8 -21.8.2020). This years theme was Deep Blue Innovations for the future. We focused on learning about sea creatures, the different depths of the ocean and the importance of keeping our marine world clean & the ocean life healthy. We used scientific exploration to further investigate the underwater world whilst also learning about weight, water displacement, colour mixing and chemistry!

19.01.2022 Meet Tashi, our Diploma Qualified assistant in our Babies Room! "Hello, I am Tashi. I have completed my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, and previously worked as a primary Teacher back home in Bhutan. I love working with children as it gives me full satisfaction at the end of each day. I believe in helping every child to build strong foundation with educators and families working together with one common goal."

I have been working in childcare for 5 years and believe that each child should be given a safe and supportive environment for them to grow their abilities, knowledge and skills for their future. 15.01.2022 Meet Kasuni, Our Early Childhood Teacher in our Kindy Room! "Hi everyone, my name is Kasuni and I am a Qualified Educator working in the Kindy Room. I am working towards my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and end of 2021 I will be graduating as an Early Childhood Teacher. I am originally from Sri Lanka and moved to Australia in 2016. I love being involved in the children’s learning and work to offer fun, play-based opportunities according to children’s interests which encourage their learning and development."

14.01.2022 Today Cloverdale childcare has been very busy Acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land. We made Australian Aboriginal flags and placed them out the front of the centre for all of our community to see. We also used clay to make Australian animals and did dancing to traditional Noongar music.

12.01.2022 Today Cloverdale childcare hosted a Payjama Day event to help raise awareness and funds for children in foster care. We had a fantastic day full of baking, art activities, photo booth with props, a special movie session with popcorn, and soo much more. Cloverdale childcare is THRILLED to announce that we made over $300 .00 for this great cause, which is double our target. I am a qualified Education Assistant with over eight years of experience working with children, and with three beautiful children of my own. I absolutely love teaching Happy Feet and seeing the joy it brings to so many children each week. Happy Feet is an educational program that promotes health and fitness through dance, magic, and play. 08.01.2022 The toddler children LOVE music, dancing and singing! Our educators extended this interest by introducing more musical instruments for the children to explore! We matched this with an afternoon looking and listening to an orchestra playing music. The children were fascinated by the connection between music and the source of the sounds

07.01.2022 Thank you to the Ladies from Cloverdale DTC for coming to Cloverdale Child Care centre Yesterday (3/9/2020) to teach our children about how to best care for their teeth and gums. We learn about Dental hygiene through August and really appreciated our educational incursion.

07.01.2022 At cloverdale we write child focused programs, meaning that all of our experiences are based on the childrens interests and developmental needs. Recently one of the babies visited the Zoo with their family over the weekend. We decided to include this in our program and use the interest in animals as a base for learning that we can extend on throughout the week. Lots of the babies have been enjoying exploring the zoo table top and the tiger habitat sensory tray experiences.

06.01.2022 On Tuesday the 4/8/2020, Cloverdale childcare celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Childrens day. We are the Elders of tomorrow! We carried out our daily Acknowledgment to Country, sang our Wanjoo welcome song, and added in some more Noongar words that our Reconciliation officer Michelle has learned and shared with us.... We spoke about the change to the season Djilba, and spent lots of time outside looking for flowers and weather changes. #EldersOfTomorrow #StrongInCulture

06.01.2022 A few weeks ago when the babies were out on an excursion they saw the local postman. To extend on this last Thursday the babies went round to the local post office to post a letter. The educators then invited the postman to come & visit the centre & talk about the important job that he has delivering everyones mail. The toddlers and kindys also joined in

02.01.2022 Tomorrow is Earth day! Our clever babies spent some time today researching the world we live in. We set up blue and green paint so the babies can paint a picture of the Earth. The Educators spoke about the colour blue representing the water and the colour green representing land. We used this art activity as an opportunity to learn about caring and showing respect for our environment.

01.01.2022 In the baby room we have been really busy preparing some Christmas fun activies. The children enjoyed making snow, a sensory Christmas tree with ribbons and bows and candy cane scented play dough as well as decorating our wooden Christmas Tree with tinsel, and fine-motor sticker Christmas tree just to name a few.
