23.01.2022 You can’t trust Labor to deliver projects or infrastructure in the Barkly. Our Labor team for the Barkly have sat in the corner quietly while the Gunner Labor Government has spent millions of dollars in Darwin that was earmarked for our region. Residents living in the Barkly have become the forgotten people of the Northern Territory and enough is enough.... Here’s a list of the broken promises over the last 4 years from our incompetent local Labor team: Tennant Creek Property crime at highest level in the NT House breakins increased by 300% No Youth Action Plan No Review of liquor restrictions Riley Review ignored No Minister endorsed Alcohol Management Plan 12 Police Auxiliary Licensing Inspectors No personnel to monitor CCTV cameras No comprehensive whole of government whole of community Crime Reduction Plan $9 million upgrade of Purkiss Reseve $5.5 million turbocharging tourism funds $5 million alcohol and drug treatment and rehabilitation centre $2.95 million streetscaping for Paterson Street, Davidson Walk and Peko Road $2 million entry statements $10 million upgrade of the Nyinkka Nyunyu Art and Culture Centre $3.5 million investment in car crushing plant & equipment for remote communities $500,000 Hilda Street Park Battery Hill Mining Centre handed to an Alice Springs based organisation Local Tourism Advisory Committee scrapped Tourism Business Development Officer axed Regional Economic Development Committee scrapped No additions to the public housing stock No new or upgraded houses in Outstations and Homelands Town Camp review shelved Regular closures of the Motor Vehicle Registry On top of this we have now been told that the Gunner Labor Government has spent just a third of what it promised at the 2016 election on remote Indigenous housing. Labor pledged $110 million per year to remote housing, but has spent just $112.3 million since 2017 Labor has failed to report on its target of building a minimum of 600 additional rooms per year The big question is, where is the missing $200 million for housing and why is the Barkly continually ignored by our local Labor duo? Putting the Barkly back on the Map is my focus and commitment to you. This August vote for Jobs, Safety and Opportunity, VOTE 1 CLP. - Steven Edgington

12.01.2022 I have a long history fighting for change and delivering for the people in the Barkly region. I am particularly proud of what we have achieved in this region including the $78.4 million Barkly Regional Deal - a 10 year plan focused on delivering social and economic development, culture and place making - the first of its kind in Australia. There is so much more to be done and I have set out a vision and range of initiatives for every town and community in the Barkly to help b...ring about social and economic development for everyone - that’s what I’m fighting for! Putting the Barkly back on the Map is my commitment to you and, if given the opportunity, I look forward to continuing to provide the leadership and strong representation for the Barkly in the Northern Territory Parliament. Today is your opportunity to vote for Jobs, Safety and Opportunity, VOTE 1 CLP. - Steven Edgington
