18.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very auspicious Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of Ganesh to earth from Kailash Parvat with his mother Goddess Parvati. The festival is marked with the installation of Ganesh clay idols privately in homes, or publicly on elaborate pandals (temporary stages). The festival ends on the tenth day, when the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, the...n immersed in a nearby body of water such as a river or sea. In Mumbai alone, around 150,000 statues are immersed annually. Thereafter the clay idol dissolves and Ganesh is believed to return to Mount Kailash to Parvati and Shiva. The festival celebrates Lord Ganesh as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence. See more

17.01.2022 As the Deputy Mayor of The Hills Shire, as a mother of an ardent swimmer, as a resident and previously teacher at a sports high school I understand the value added by The Waves Acquatic Centre. It will be for our present and future generations to enjoy, learn to swim, train for competitions and exercise at this state of art facility. Truely an asset for our community. It is a privilege to be at the sod turning event for the works to begin on the project. Thanks to the council staff who have worked hard behind the scenes.

15.01.2022 Bella Vista Farm is the pride & joy of The Hills Shire, and a personal favourite of mine. As a West Ward Councillor I am pleased to see it well maintained and looked after for our future generations.

06.01.2022 Ayurveda research in Australia! Ayurveda is widely regarded as one of the oldest medical systems in the world. Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient Indian system founded on the concept that health is achieved when the mind, body and spirit are in balance. The term Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (knowledge). According to Ayurvedic theory, everyone is a combination of five elements: air, water, fire, earth and space. Ayurvedic practitioners use a wide range of therapies, including nutritional and herbal medicine, massage, meditation and yoga. NICM Health Research Institute, is Australia’s leader in Integrative & Complimentary Medicine Research & Policy. Today I met with dedicated team of researchers lead by Professor Alan Bensoussan.

06.01.2022 This morning I didn't want to leave my warm bed! It was comfortable and cosy. I wondered how many people in this world do not have the luxury of a warm bed, a shelter over their head, a warm cuppa, even a blanket & mattress. The sense of entitlement filled me with guilt and simultaneously appreciate things we take for granted. I thanked God! But, is that enough?
