Amanda highlights the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone. To put yourself in a position you may not normally find yourself, and encourages all women to work towards breaking down the stereotypes associated with working in a male domin...ated job. My Dad and my partner inspired me to change my career path and become a ranger, they have always had my back. #CampaspeNoExcuseForAbuse #CampaspeSaysNo2FamilyViolence #16daysofactivism2020

Meet Emily - working at Maccas Demolition & Asbestos Removal as an administrator as well as working on-site.... Emily enjoys the challenges her job throws at her, she takes them in her stride and gets the work done to the best she can. Fortunately for Emily, she has had great experiences with gender equality and hasn’t really experienced any barriers. I don’t really think of my job as being male dominated I know it is but I enjoy it and it just doesn’t feel male dominated. 02.01.2022 As a result of the impact of COVID-19 and the uncertainty relating to the restrictions for events, the CLRS Annual Fundraising Dinner is not being held in 2021. This was due to be held on Tuesday 23 February 2021. Annually this fundraising event raises an average of $80,000 to support our Opening Doors Projects. This is a significant contribution which has been possible thanks to our community's ongoing and generous support. Our fundraising committee has been identifying ...opportunities to raise funds in a different way and as a result have developed the Opening Doors Project MEGA DRAW. The MEGA DRAW, to win a $10,000 Home Improvement Package, will be drawn on 30 November 2021. Leading up to this, a monthly draw will take place for 10 months from February 2021 through to November 2021, which will have 60 tickets for sale at $100 per ticket each month. Each month there will be 1st ($500+) 2nd ($250+) and 3rd ($150+) prizes on offer. Every ticket purchased will get an entry into the MEGA DRAW. This means there will be 600 entries into the MEGA DRAW. We are planning that this initiative will raise $60,000 for our Opening Doors Project. ACE Radio 102.5 Edge FM and Riverine Herald are supporting us to deliver this initiative. Their marketing and advertising support will be invaluable in ensuring every business that donates a prize is recognised and acknowledged, our tickets are sold out each month and our communities awareness of our Opening Doors Project increases. Moama Bowling Club who would normally be the Event Sponsor for our Annual Fundraising Dinner are continuing to provide us support in the delivery of this initiative. Tickets will go on sale from mid-January 2021 onwards with the first draw taking place on Tuesday 23rd February and the last Tuesday of every month thereafter. In January keep your eye on our social media and the Riverine Herald and your ears peeled on Edge FM & 2QN for when and how to purchase tickets.
