24.01.2022 Dear MEMBERS Club Glass House has been a vital part of the community since 1958 (then named Glasshouse Bowls Club. We are incredibly proud of the contributions we have been able to make to the community in that time. We have had thousands of members, both social and bowlers over these years and raised money for and donated to many community associations Unfortunately, the current situation with COVID-19 has now resulted in circumstances which have required us to close down o...ur premises. We fully support this decision. The very grassroots of our organisation is supporting the community, and right now, closing our business is the most courageous thing we can do. We’re saving lives. We don’t know now how long we will be closed for. We have been proud to provide first-class facilities to all of our members and visitors, and we look forward to doing that again as soon as possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us up until this point. Please keep updated on our face book page, where we will hopefully be able to keep you updated on the Club over the following weeks and months. Stay Safe Sharon Bochow Secretay/Manager

20.01.2022 A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again, decided to leave a note saying, "I've had enough and left you, don't bother coming after me." She then hid under the bed to watch his reaction. After a short while the husband came home and she could hear him in the kitchen before he came into the bedroom. She watched him walk towards the dresser and pick up the note. After a few minutes he wrote something on it before he picked up the phone and called someone.... "She's finally gone ... Yeah, I know, about bloody time. I'm coming to pick you up. Put on the sexy french stuff. I love you." He hung up, grabbed his car keys and left. She heard the car drive off as she came out from under the bed, seething with rage. With tears in her eyes she grabbed the note to see what he'd written: "I can see your feet. Stop being retarded. We're outta bread, throw the kettle on. Back in 5 minutes." See more

19.01.2022 HELLO EVERYONE... Just a quick update for all of you who are eagerly awaiting for our doors to open. We have looked very seriously at opening in the last week, however with the restrictions and our small area we have made the decision to wait until the next lifting of restrictions before setting the date to open our doors to our loyal members. We have made this decision based on the low numbers we can accommodate and the restrictions that we would be forced to put on our pat...rons, it would not be the enjoyable experience we pride ourselves in providing. We hope that we will be open in early July depending on our Queensland Government and the next lifting of restrictions. The Staff are busy training on how to ensure your safety once the club is open again and are doing a deep clean . We are all as eager as our members to see you all again and enjoy the great family atmosphere of our Club. Please be assured once we can open with some sort of normality we will. We will let you know here on our page once a date has been confirmed. Thank you all and see you soon Sharon See more

11.01.2022 UPDATE Just letting you all know the club is currently still operating and providing all facilities with some changes under the new laws imposed by the government to reduce the social contact. We are a small community and are mindful of each other so with this in mind and a few minor changes I am sure we can continue to enjoy our Club, remember during dining hours we also do takeaway meals and can take orders and payment over the telephone, All though we cannot deliver to your home if you are concerned with close contact to others, our staff are happy to meet you in our car park with your order. I will continue to keep you updated should our trading hours change. thank you Sharon Bochow - Manager

09.01.2022 A message from Troy Kippen RIP mum Mum (Gwenie), passed away peacefully on Sunday night after a short battle with cancer. Mum was an amazing woman who put the welfare of others above anything else, and she was an amazing mum, caring friend, and always offered help to people in need. People who knew her never had a harsh word, and always spoke highly about her compassion for others. We will miss you mum, but your giving nature is a legacy that will live on in every one of us. Always love u mum xxx The family would like to invite anyone who knew Gwen to join them on Monday the 4 th February at 3 pm at Gregson & Weight Caloundra to say farewell to this wonderful lady

07.01.2022 THE PERFECT HUSBAND Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cellular phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.... MAN: Hello WOMAN: Hi Honey, it’s me. Are you at the club? MAN: Yes. WOMAN: I’m at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat. It’s only $2,000; is it OK if I buy it? MAN: Sure, go ahead if you like it that much. WOMAN: I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked. MAN: How much? WOMAN: $90,000. ; MAN: OK, but for that price I want it with all the options. WOMAN: Great! Oh, and one more thing I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They’re asking $980,000 for it. MAN: Well, then go ahead and make an offer of $900,000. They’ll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it’s what you really want. WOMAN: OK. I’ll see you later! I love you so much! MAN: Bye! I love you, too. The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open. He turns and asks, Anyone know who’s phone this is.....
