25.01.2022 Club 21 Members We hope that you have all held up well through the COVID period. Unfortunately we are writing to you with some bad news. As of Friday 17th of July, 2020, Club 21 no longer calls Marksman home. We apologise that it has taken this time to make everyone aware of this, however the Executive wanted to make sure we had everything in order before putting the message out. It is a sad turn of events that we worked incredibly hard to come to some form of an agreement to...Continue reading

17.01.2022 The first 2 shoots at our new range went exceptionally well. Members settled in well, the RO’s and the Committee did an amazing job of ensuring everything has run smoothly. Keep your eyes open for the Oct-Dec calendar coming very soon!

16.01.2022 ** EMAIL SENT OUT 17th SEPTEMBER ** Dear Club 21 Member We’ve managed to do it! After a lot of work, we’ve got Club 21 up and running again. ... We are running our first shoots at our new home SSAA Para on Saturday the 19th and the 26th of September. These shoots will be scheduled competition shoots, however we will be running our Standard Club Match at a slower pace. The intention of this is to allow our members to settle into the new venue and the change of procedure that shooting on an outdoor range with a moving firing line brings. The Committee will be on range from 9:30am to 1pm on both Saturdays to meet, greet, answer questions and most importantly run shoots. Please be patient with us, there are bound to be some teething issues that come with all of the changes, however we feel that we’re ready to get back up and running. As per our agreement with SSAA Para, you will still need to sign in as a guest at the Canteen prior to coming onto range, however you will not need to pay the usual $5 SSAA Visitor Fee to shoot with us. Please produce your CLUB 21 Membership Card to help them identify you. You will also need your Firearms Licence. There will be a $10 Club 21 Range Fee payable for the day. Please pay this when you sign into our Range Book when you arrive at our range. Please bring the correct money in notes if possible. Strings will run as we have traditionally, with first in first on range. Note that with the COVID shutdown, preference will be given to members who have a firearms licence expiring in October so they can get their mandatory shoots up. Under SAPOL’s COVID Exemption you may not need to complete the minimum number of shoots for licence renewal. Please discuss this directly with us if you have any questions. Remember that you will need to bring your own eye and ear protection. It is also important to read the information attached regarding the types of ammunition you can use on Para Range. We thank you for your patience through this period and look forward to catching up again for a shoot! Regards, Club 21 Committee

15.01.2022 Re: Update on resuming shoots Thank you for being patient while we work through current issues. The Executive have been meeting weekly to keep Club 21 moving forward from this point. This has involved speaking to the SSAA (SA), as well as various other clubs and ranges within the SSAA family. So far we are happy to report the following ... SSAA PARA Range some of the Executive did an informal walk through last weekend. We then followed up with an informal discussion with PARA’s President (Steve), about whether Club 21 and PARA could come to an agreement about leasing range time on the IPSC Range. Steve then raised this idea at a committee meeting last week and notified us that the committee is happy to reach an agreement. We are now working with them directly and will keep you updated. SSAA Monarto Complex an informal discussion has also occurred with both the Complex Committee and several clubs that shoot at Monarto. We have received positive feedback so far; Club 21 has been invited to shoot with other clubs, and we are discussing the possibility of taking on some Club 21 specific range time. The Executive is mindful in decision making, that our membership draws from all areas of Adelaide, therefore we feel the best direction forward will be to offer shooting venues that are accessible for as many members as possible; being PARA and Monarto shooting complexes. We are very hopeful that this will also be in conjunction with guest shoots at other clubs. Working with PARA to take on some range time is the best and fastest way to find us somewhere to shoot and provide us a temporary new home for now. We are working through the specific details with them, including what fees will be involved, and the Executive plan to visit the range in August, to work out how to best utilise the range, and set up a shoot format that works under their range certificate, that our members would be able to shoot and enjoy. The Executive will then attend set up shoots in August and early September, and it is our intention that we will hold our first club meet in mid-September. We will keep you updated as more eventuates, in the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. Regards, Club 21 Executive

09.01.2022 PREMIUM MEMBERS If you are a current Premium Member and wish to keep on with this membership then you need do nothing. 08.01.2022 ** EMAIL SENT OUT 13th SEPTEMBER ** Dear Club 21 Members, It’s been a busy past couple of weeks. The Committee has been hard at work and have managed to achieve a great deal. We have come to an arrangement with Para to have us there for the remainder of our membership year (until March 31st, 2021) . We’ve also run our shoot through on the range we have open to us and have managed to work out the materials needed for a moving firing line, new targets and a format that will be ...familiar to our members. This has taken some work, as conditions will be different to those that our members are used to. We will have a strong focus on firearms handling and safety as we transition to this new format. At this point we are looking at running our first Club 21 shoot at Para on either Saturday the 19th and/or Saturday the 26th of September. We will keep you advised of this date in the coming days. Beyond this the intention is to shoot every second Saturday and possibly 1 Wednesday afternoon a month. The Club understands that these changes are well outside of our normal operations. COVID threw up its challenges for the shooting community and having to find new ranges to shoot at was a massive task on top of that. Normally we don’t offer a refund for those members wishing to leave the Club, however in these circumstances we feel that it would only be fair to do so. We understand that with the Club going through these changes and a venue change that we will no longer suit all of our members. It will be sad to see some of our membership leave, however we understand if you wish to do so. To that end we are offering a refund of the remaining 6 months of your club membership fee. It is important to note that this will be offered for this one time only. For those that don’t request a refund via the attached form by September 30th, it will be taken that you wish to remain a member for the remainder of our membership year. It is very important to note that we will need confirmation of you being a member of another club, as without this you will be in violation of your requirement to be a financial member of a firearms club for your H1 licence. For all details on the cancellation of your membership and to receive the refund please see the details on the attached form. Once we have settled into a routine at Para it is our intention is to look for other ranges to start regular Club shoots at. We’ve already been invited to shoot as guests at a lot of other SSAA clubs, as well as some country clubs who have offered a weekend away. There could be some fun and exciting opportunities coming for our members in the future. For any questions on any of the above please feel free to email us or contact us by phone or our Facebook page.
